I was thinking... today i´ve heard a gig in 1992... when Smile was re-united for a gig in The Marque... with Brian Rog...and i think John was there too... and i have to say that Tim i such a good singer really specially in the song "if i was a carpenter..." and the idea is: it would be great if sometime Tim join Rog And Bri in this tour... or in any other event... i have read that Brian and him keep in touch.. and Brian also record some guitar work for Tim´s "amigo" album... it would me great for me as a fan of Smile too (because the songs are GREAT) that maybe sometime invite Tim to make a few songs... because... is a very importan part of "Queen"?? maybe...
Cheers.
Patricio.
I think that Tim Staffel should actually tour with them in 2006-2007. Hes more better for them then Paul Rodgers, i'm not saying Paul sucks no way as i went to Hyde Park, why would i go if i hated the man theres my point but i heard Paul cant tag along with them forever so they have to choose someone else, i'm begging it ant Robbie Williams please please please noooooooooo! So i would rather have Tim to do the job, he was in a band with Brian and Roger in the past so he knows them very well and was mates with Freddie so it ant too bad. :D
The first guy who came with this idea was negative QZer (inventer of terrible English) Serry... It was in December of 2004... ;) It was in the days when one of the greatest Queen experts Philipp Nothaft was on the board... And my own nickname was Serry Funster... A lot of things changes... Except my English ;) link

where did phillip go then?
i duno if Tim should do it, he missed his chance
lol
i dnt mind if its Paul or Tim really
:-)
It´s quite a good idea... but I´d rather choose John + Brian + Roger (and Spike on Keyboards)
Why choosing a frontman or singer when both Brian and Roger are good ones.
Anyway... I´m really satisfied with Paul on vocals, and maybe, it wouldn´t be a bad idea to put Tim... but we all want to see John back in action, don´t we? I wonder, what would happen if he suddenly decides que wants to tour again...
I dont mind Paul too, but the thing is he ant gonna stay around for the next tours hes gonna be busy with other stuff so they need someone else. They want that so there gonna go and do that.
I don't think Brian and Roger would ever do it. They're always talking about living in the now and not trying to stay rooted in the past, and that would be the ultimate going back to the old days.
I was at that gig, it was wondeful to see however I think Tim was very nervy.
He was great at the songs he did, however he was no Freddie, or for that matter no Paul Rodgers, he just doesn't have the stage presence of either of them.
Serry, did I mention your English is terrible:-) ?
I think Tim would have a hearty laugh at being compared to Paul Rodgers. Tim is a very competent musician, but AFAIK regards himself as a strict amateur.
He'd never dream about doing the whole tour thingy, and if he did he'd be shot down just as hard as Paul by a lot of the less supportive fans in here. He probably doesn't need the aggravation!
