Yes, after the Lisbon show. While some annoying fans went to meet Brian and Paul in the backstage for the Meet and Greet for about one hand shake and a quick smile, I had a good hint in what hotel they could be at. So I drove there, entered the lobby like a filthy rich guest :) went to the bar. I had to wait for about 10 minutes. Roger came and we had a drink and a 10 minute conversation (no photos, no autographs, just the sheer pleasure of meeting your idol). Roger was kind and truly cool. When I was leaving the hotel, I still had time to meet Brian, shook his hand and chatted for about 3 minutes... One of the best nights of my life. ;) |

I met him... and it is quite an incredible story... I live in Argentina, and at the begining of the year, my father told me that in april, we were going to visit a textile exposition that was going to take place at the PALEXPO in Geneva, Switzerland... I suddenly realized that Brian & roger were on tour... and started investigating about dates... I could not believe that they would be playing in Switzerland (Basel) by the time I would be there. I didn´t hesitate and bought my tickets! I made my father and brother go to Basel before going to Geneva. After the show, we went to a McDonalds and then back to the Hotel... When we arrived, I saw Brian getting out of his car!!!! He was staying at the same hotel I was... I went and told him the show had been awesome. He answered like a gentleman, and told me he had to go inside te hotel because they were expecting him... (I was quite shocked because that encounter.... and a little bit scared about his security guards =P so the only thing I could do was to get into the hotel after him, and go to sleep... while he was there at the lobby... =( It is not necessary to say I could not sleep... So well... that´s how I met brian... I think It will never happen again (unless he decides to come to Argentina...) But at least I had the possibility of meeting him once last april 10th. goodbye! |

I've met both Brian and Roger on a warm, beautiful August day in 1998. It was the most fantastic day of my life. We got photos and autographs. I'll remember that beautiful day in the long, hot summer of 1998 'till the day I die, and I dearly hope ev'ry civilian that ev'r met a Queen member had the ride of their lives. |

I have met Brian 3 times now. I live in Surrey and he lives in the next village (not the West End of London). One Sunday lunchtime I popped into one of the several pubs in his village and he was there with Angie Dobson and two of his kids. This was around 1990. I thanked him for the music and he invited me to sit and have a chat (mind you Angie's face was looked like thunder, s'pose she was annoyed at have her afternoon interupted by a fan). I asked him what the band were up to and he said that they were in the studio working on a new album due out later that year in the autumn. It never did come out in the autumn, the album was Innuendo and we now know why it was delayed. The next time I met him was in the village I live in. I went to get a chinese from the local takeaway and Brian was in there waiting for his order. Again I said hello and we got chatting, that was at the time he and his band had released 'Live at the Brixton Academy'. The last time was a couple of years ago when I bumped into him in one of the local pubs near his house (not the same as the first). He was with 2 guys at the bar (they looked like they were in the music business). This time I didn't interupt him but just said hello as I left, which he acknowledged. Each time he was really approachable and friendly. I think that's because the locals see him regularly and don't bother him. Most will say hello and that's about it. One thing that I regretted was that I didn't go into the original pub the weekend before I first met him. One of the locals told me it was a regulars 80th birthday. Brian turned up on the Saturday night with guitar in hand and did a jamming session!! Shows you the kinda guy he is. |

You are so frickin lucky, words can not describe how lucky you are lol That's pretty cool though, i'm sure since he's back home now you'll meet up with him soon in one of the locals. |
