I suppose all the Star Wars fans on here have now got Revenge of the Sith so how does it feel to have all six films now complete?
Does Anakin's story still ring true? Is it, according to Lucas told through the droids?
Let's start with Anakin Skywalker yes in the Phantom Menace he was very annoying "yippee" springs to mind but you had to show his good qualities to make his turn to the dark side more shocking. In Attack of the Clones Anakin is more dark not just the Sand People massacre but also in the way he treats Obi-Wan, he doesn't trust him at all. In Revenge of the Sith we finally see the real Anakin and boy is it great. Perhaps its wrong to single out a single actor but Ian McDairmid as Darth Sidious is a revelation slowly turning Anakin over to the Dark side his scene at the opera is one of the greatest non-lightsabre scene in all six films. From killing Jedi and children we can see how far Anakin has slipped.
Now we move to A New Hope and WTF! Darth Vader is now second in command and basically a puppet to Grand Moff Tarkin. How did that come about? We are all adults here we know that Lucas didn't have much of a back story when he went to 20th Century Fox with the story of Luke Starkiller and the Jedi Bindu's so we can forgive him that and Vader is still a great villain. Obi-Wan now grey and old is a great father figure for Luke (ironic really) and the look that Obi-Wan gives to Luke before he is cut in half by Vader speaks volumes. He still believes the prophecy that Anakin will bring balance to the Force but it needs his son to do that.
In Empire Strikes Back we see whether or not you watch the original or DVD version that Vader knows/finds out that Luke is his son and he doesn't want to kill him. In the way of the Sith he wants to take him as his apprentice and rule the galaxy as father and son. The same offer that he gave to Padme in ROTS.
Now we come to Return of the Jedi and the redemption of Anakin. We believe Luke and Padme who say there is still good in him by one line "It is too late for me my son". In watching Luke being fried by Sidious' force lightening there is a choice like the one in ROTS he made when watching Windu befalling the same fate. This time he makes the right choice and finally brings balance to the force. Not by killing Sidious but by asking Luke to remove his helmet. Anakin has killed the Master but in killing the Sith he has to kill the apprentice. Him.
So now we see Lucas' full vision though I haven't watched them back to back yet it is a good story and I predict that it will run and run. So how many times Lucas explains it is not told through the eyes (recepters?!) of the droids.
I truly believe that Ian McDiarmid deserves an Oscar for his performance as Palpatine/Dath Sidious. Or at least, he should definitely be nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Personally I've never been so moved by the performance of an actor playing a villain since Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter, or Gary Oldman as the corrupt cop on 'Leon: The Proffessional'.
Pardon me being so naive, but when I watched The Phantom Menace the first time I never thought that Palpatine was the same Darth Sidious that was going to become the Emperor after turning Anakin to the Dark Side and destroying the Jedi. I guess the whole performance by McDiarmid as Palpatine was to make everyone believe that he was a good politician working hard for the best interests of The Republic. He pretty much manipulated everyone including the Senate and the Jedi into giving them their trust and power to destroy the Separatists and the Sith, when in fact he was commanding both sides.

It must have been great to not know! I knew, of course, because I knew that the Emperor in Return of the Jedi was played by Ian McDiarmid.
And if you watch The Phantom Menace and see the Yoda/Mace conversation on the Sith the one that goes "Which was killed the master or the apprentice?" the camara pans on Papaltine. Subtle I know but for us old Star Wars fans very obvious.
Still not seen the last one. 'Attack Of The Clones' was so poor I've just lost all interest in the entire series.
Please tell me Jam Jar Binks gets squashed.

Well i don't want to spoil it for you but.....infact i wont say anything, you should just watch the film ;)
About the deleted scenes for this film, it's shocking what they missed out! The whole creation of the Rebellion, which in my opinion is a very important freakin part in the story.
They even missed out Yoda landing on Dagobah.......for shame.

Oh God!
How on earth could Lucas leave out the scene that could be considered as the birth of The Rebel Alliance? I know he wanted to focus mainly on Anakin's path to the Dark Side, but it's still a powerful scene that connects the dots between episodes III and IV. I was still pretty pissed off about not giving Mon Mothma any screen time on the movie.
Rick McCallum was right about the scene with Yoda arriving on Dagobah. Once again, I don't know what was Lucas thinking?
Although it might not have been Lucas' fault, it would have been awesome if they included the scene where Qui Gon Jinn talks to Yoda after becoming one with the force. Apparently they tried to get Liam Nesson to make a cameo for that one scene, but they couldn't reach him due to a schedule conflict. Still, it wouldn't take them more than one day to shoot that particular scene.
P.S. Has anyone been able to find the Easter Egg with the dancing hip-hop Yopa? It's absolutely hilarious!
