You do have a point. I recently got Made In Heaven and when I heard that, I thought my CD player was broken. Then, when I was putting Born To Love You on my MP3 player, I saw that it ended. 22minutes is a stretch but it is a good sound.
I thought it was an incredible track - the first time I heard it, I thought that if the span of Freddie's life and energy had been recorded in sound, that would be it.
Also, thinking about it now and considering that Brian is an astrophysicist, and thus knows that all matter is energy vibrating at different frequencies - I think he may have been thinking along the same lines.
Consider the running time: 22 minutes, 36 seconds. If we take that 36 seconds as just over half a minute and double the minutes and seconds together, we get just past 45, Freddie's lifespan. I think this whole song symbolizes Freddies life - 30 seconds for each year. Crap, I know what I'll be listening to when I get home.

Shit, I'm right.
Freddie lived exactly 45.222 years (81 days past his 45th birthday).
The song's length is 1356 seconds or 22.6 minutes. Double that, and you get 45.2.
Spooky. I'm gonna go cry now.

I suggest sending this to Brian's site to ask for confirmation. I'm sure he'd respond as it's the kind of thing he'd like to elaborate on. Interesting
LOL @ YV
I must tell you- that was the most boring intro to a live gig I have ever heard!!!! After 5 minutes I started to think that something broke down :)
OH...
the question: "Did Freddie know" about Track 13?
In a word, no.
In more words;
3 of the songs on Made in Heaven were recorded in 1991 - Mother Love, A Winter's Tale and You Don't Fool Me.
The rest are based on stuff taken from throughout the bands career. The strongest and most recurring theme on the album is from It's a Beautiful Day, which was started in 1980 (or so I've heard - it sounds right).
He probably knew next to nothing about the exact format of MIH. His words to Brian were to the effect of "just give me anything, keep writing, and I'll sing it". I don't imagine that he'd be thinking ahead to the stuff they'd do without him.
But basically, he knew that a posthumous album of some sort would be made, and he did tell the other guys that he wanted his last songs to be released. It was common sense that they'd probably pad it out with older stuff that had been remixed perhaps.
It's a shame that certain unreleased songs weren't prettied up and put on MIH, but they had good reason I suppose. Take "Feelings" - it's a great little song, but thematically it totally doesn't fit with something like A Winter's Tale. Try following Mother Love with "Silver Salmon".
