I introduced Queen to one of my best friends and he absoloutly adores them, my other friends like them too beacause there all Highlander Junkies lol. Any way they are saying they are sick of me beacuase I like to have a chat about Queen and they say stuff like ' f**k sake Tiffin (my real name) do you ever talk about anything else???' lol I know its stupid but i would just find my self saying to one of them 'Guess what' then they will say 'what' then i will say 'I got Queen doing Imagine by John Lennon live' and there responce will be 'f**k sake here we go again.' so Im tring to be quiet about them lol i just thought is share my day with you lot. Im in Year 11 and I have Graphics and every lesson the Chav's get to put there CD's on so we can listen to music and to be honest there music is a load of shit ( usally consists of New Monkey *shivers* and repetitive Dance music which is all shite music) so I say to our teacher 'Miss next lesson can our table have the music on that we like to listen to.' which is rock, and she agreed. So the people on our table (4 of us) agreed i would bring The Album 'Queen' becuase it's such a well rounded album and people where sure to like. So the next lesson (which was today) i brought it in. We put it on and 'Keep Yourself Alive' Came on, The Chav's did'nt like it. the whole lesson the whole class which was 20 people just started saying 'This music if f**king shit' *Laugher* 'The lead singer Used to walk around the stage with a f**king microphone on a stick' *Laugher* ' And he was a F**king puff he got shagged and cought AID'S' *LAUGHER* at this time I snapped and stood up and said (Sorry about the language) ' YOU KNOW WHAT YOU LOT ARE A BUNCH OF FUCKING PRICKS, WE LET YOU LISTEN TO YOUR SHITTI LITTLE DANCE AND NEW MONKEY NOW FUCK OFF AND HAVE MORE RESPECT FOR THE DEAD' my friends backed me up so like 20 people were against 4 people. I was really upset. Then the teacher said 'Go to your head of year no one uses langage like that in my class!!!' and i was like 'all lesson the class has been swearing and then you only pick on me!!' I do admit i shoud'nt of sweard but i was so annoyed at the comments. So I got put on Dentention and got my Queen album Conviscated. It really annoys me how I get wrong fo sticking up for my self for somthing I love, In fact It felt the same as somone calling my family.. I understand totally!!! last year when i was in year 11 we had a common room and every break time we'd listen to hip hop, rap etc, basically music i don't like and me and my mates as massive queen fans brought in the greatest hits albums and got there first and put it on they sat there saying how crap it was walked up to CD player took it out put their crap back on again....grrrrrr.....you have no idea how pissed off i was, but i kept putting it on and they started liking it...how unbelievable is that? |

They need to get a lesson in taste! Loners. Once in school ages ago this girl was picking on me, not Queen related just normal bullying. And she was pinching me and all that usual sissy stuff and I grabbed her hair and pulled a handful out and I got told off. Those idiots should buy a Queen album and then see what they say. If they still hate them they can go to hell. |

Hey Tyfoon I read your post here and I have to say you are the best for sticking up for Queen like that and I totally agree with the points you were trying to get across to the ga ga heads in your class - this is what I think WWRY the play was all about and the message Rog and Bri were trying to point out to the younger generation that are just fed the music that they will listen to. They say this is a great song and when they go and listen to the newbie star sing live they often come back and say "yeah it was ok" I am sure that when you come out of a live Queen concert no matter how much you say you hate their music you would have to acknowledge that they rocked when they played live even more so than their albums. BTW I think that is the best thing I have ever heard for anyone going up in front of the headmaster for - you may get your ass kicked at school by the heads but to me I think you are everything a Queen fan should be - you have my respect! |

I know exactly how you feel! I get slagged all the time for listening to Queen. My dad actually advised me not to bring in one of my Queen albums to play during music class because he thought I'd get teased. I just told him I didn't give two f**ks what anyone thought and I was bringing in what I liked. If they can listen to 50 Cent and Usher and all those phonies then surely I can listen to Queen? Don't worry, I know exactly how you feel! What annoys me is that they also hate rock music in general. "They don't even sing, they just shout and scream. You're worse for being a f**cking rocker anyway." Pisses you off doesn't it? |

My art teacher used to put on GH1 during lessons. One time, I started singing along to Killer Queen and one of my friends-who didn't know it was Queen and frankly can't stand them-said to me "What the heck are you singing?!" (as the music wasn't too loud.) I just scoffed at her all annoyed. Then this other kid, said "Hey, isn't that music from like 100 years ago" Which really pissed me off here. Then this OTHER guy starts snickering at the table next to me and says "Yeah, that's real music-on Opposite Day!!!" I almost started crying tears of rage at that one. At the time, I had never sworn in my life, but now I would have been more like this: "You F**KING MORON! I DON"T CRITISIZE YOUR MUSIC LIKE SLIPKNOT AND 50 CENT! WHICH I THINK IS S**T!!! SO F**K OFF YOU F**KING LOSER!" Opposite day, I ask you. Honestly. |

I'm pretty sure that when I was at school (and I'm only 25, so it wasn't that long ago) we would have got a severe bollocking for even suggesting that! Funny, I just had one of those situations again today. We were in art class and as usual, I was talking about Queen and how great they were, then one of the girls started asking me about them. She said, "Who are Cream?" I said, "It's Queen actually." Then she said, "Are they any good?" I was just going to say something like, "Oh yes, they bloody well are!" but I was beaten to it by this girl who was sitting across from me (she's a rich kid, her father owns loads of businesses - and she thinks she's the bees kness). She says, "Of course they're not any good, they're an old band aren't they?" Yeah, her opinion is that 40-year-olds should be in nursing homes for god's sake. I just laughed, I couldn't do much else. And she knew well that it was a laugh that said 'What a saddo' rather than one that said what she had just come out with was hilarious. At the end of class I said to my friend, "Oh by the way, don't listen to Ciara. Queen are the business I tell you." And she said, "Oh don't worry, I'll take your word for this one." So for once I came out on top. |

Wow... These are my people! I always gotta defend my liking for Queen... Its rather annoying... Especially this one time when i was in my morality class, we were voting on class officals and had to read a TON of campaign essays. And our teacher would allow one mediation song a day, but on such a particular day, he allowed music to be played the whole class as we read these essays, and so one of my friends asked me if i had my CD's w/ me, it turns out i had a few and one was ANATO, now her and i are the only 2 Queen fans in this class, i have found however, maybe 2 others who actually like them but not in that class at that time however. And so she said "Sam o my god we gotta play Bo Rhap.." i was COMPLETELY unsure because i knew for a fact that no one else in the class would appreciate it at all since they're all into all that freakin hip-hop and emo music and screamo, but not GOOD rock music. But against my better judgement and with my urge to listen to QUEEN, i said yes, took the CD out of my carrycase and gave it to her to put in, and as the opening notes of BO RHAP came on, immediate groans, and comments to the effect of "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?" And my friend trying to get others interested, saying it gets even better and faster and what not. And even mroe groans and "When the hell is this song going to be over with? its soo damn long!" "God i cant stand this anymore..." and im seething in my seat by this time, and so my friend again tryin to gain interest says as the headbanging part comes on "Ever watch Waynes World? Its in it." Then all of a sudden a few "oohs and yes's" from the haters in the group and suddenly changing their tunes with the immediate popular pop culture reference to o yea i love this song. Well needless to say, i sat there ready to punch some lights out and tell them to piss off and go home and listen to their shit music. But i refrained, using all will power within my grasp. And recently at a semi-formal dance, one of my other aquatinces who too loves queen requested AOBTD, and as it came on, i found her and we were jumping up and down and screaming, but the damn dancefloor cleared... Because it wasnt any of this "my humps" shit or w/e... but her and i proudly strutted our stuff to this great tune by the greatest band ever, and i to the best of my ability, was doing the Freddie mercury strut and singing all throughout, and we were complaining on how these kids wouldnt know good music if it bit them on the ass. And so i applaud u for being able to say something so strongly, because if i had the opportunity, i would as well. ROCK ON TEENQUEEN FANS! |

Well I don't know, every day in school seems to be Queen-related these days! Today for once something good happened. We had a table quiz in school to raise money for charity, and it included the teachers getting up on stage to make fools of themselves. Very entertaining actually - they dressed up as Marilyn Monroe, the Pogues and loads more! But then one of the teachers said, "And now can we have a round of applause for our next guest... Freddie Mercury!" My religion teacher got up on stage wearing a skirt, complete with vacuum cleaner and fake breasts and started dancing along to 'I Want To Break Free'! It was great, and everyone was singing along. It was a nice change from people saying how much Queen are 'crap'. |

Just for the heck of it, I looked up strut in the dictionary: To walk with pompous bearing, swagger. To display in order to impress others. To brace with a supporting rod or bar (that could be his microphone stand.) A pompous self-important gait. To behave or perform ostentatiously; show off. And thanks Carboengine, you're very sweet for thinking my sentiment was sweet as well! Yes thats how i always describe Freddies stage antics. Its really really sad... And this year in french we have to write short essays too... god that must be really fun for the teacher to correct! I learned more about the english language in French AND FRENCH then i ever did in English class... But anywho, back on topic... I bet you the second you mention to some one who puts QUEEN down WWRY or WATC, they change their toon... ive had that happen before... that pisses me off.. One kid kept asking my friend why she liked a (well ill used the less dorogatory term for it) 'gay' band with a bunch of guys who F*** eachother... Again, the outrage was unbearable, but i was not there at the time so i couldnt come to any defense. |
That guy who digs energy domes 23.12.2005 15:22 |
I get the gay thing a lot too. I just say, "He technically wasnt gay, he was bi. And the other three are all married with children." |

<marquee>Queen Of Wrestling</marquee> wrote: I get the gay thing a lot too. I just say, "He technically wasnt gay, he was bi. And the other three are all married with children."Amen to that logic. My friend says to me: "I know hoow much you LOVE your precious Queen, which is why I don't insult them to your face. Just behind your back. They were gay, weren't they?" Um, no. |
DreaminQueen 25.12.2005 22:37 |
Exactly, he was technically bi. And when they get like that, you tell them, well that whole band got more ass in ONE week then youll ever get... But then you watch those bitches who diss queen and see how they react to WWRY or something... and if they start jamming to it, its an unwritten law, you kick them in the nuts/face. And say piss off, you hypocritic fucker... And there you have the future music journalists of Rolling Stone. |

Oh that is the biggest load of shit! Any fool that disses Queen is just that, a fool with no taste or class. I'd never have the guts to play Queen to one of my classes, as my school is a shit. Good on you for sticking up for the best band alive. Just pity them all my friends. They are so sad that pity is all they deserve. em xx |

haha! |
goinback 08.01.2006 01:46 |
When they say how 50 Cent and Usher are better, you could explain to them how Queen used things like "chords": they actually played several notes AT THE SAME TIME! They also had an actual PERSON making the drums sounds, who could play more than ONE BEAT PER SECOND! But honestly, in high school most people don't have much of a musical background, so you just sort of have to wait a few years. Unfortunately it's ignorant people who are usually the most vocal about things.... |
DreaminQueen 08.01.2006 17:12 |
i suppose thats true. But im in high school and i know a few people who like "classic rock", i say "classic" because its not old "classic" as in "thats classicly awesome" if that even makes sense lol. |
deleted user 08.01.2006 17:36 |
thats why i take my mp3 player, i listen to queen on that instead so i dont have to hear shite music |
FreeSpirit328 08.01.2006 19:56 |
Hey I know what you mean. The only difference with me is that none of my friends like them...no one in my family likes them either. I'm all alone with no ne to share my love of Queen music and Freddie etc. It sucks! I tell my mother about something I read about Freddie or something and she doesn't want to hear it. |

tHE PROBLEM IS THEY DONT GIVE SONGS A CHANCE TO WARM UP/BARELY START.... tHESE CHAVS ARE JUST A BUNCH OF F!!!ING T!!!ERS WHO HAVE AN IQ THAT IS LOWER THAN A CAVEMAS, AND THEN THERE'S THINGS LIKE THE CRAZY FROG etc. iN THE FUTURE U WILL HAV TO CREATE YOUR OWN MUSIC AT HOME. "ITS A HARD LIFE" -but- "THE SHOW MUST GO ON"- because everyone has - "ONE VISION" |

Theres this girl (Miss Asshole) in my art class and i thought she knew alot about music. 1 day the teacher asks us about our favourite bands and of course i say Queen (and Thin Lizzy). the teacher (jokenly) says what kind of music do Queen do (Miss Asshole):ooh Queen, QUEEN ARE INDIE i say:QUEEN INDIE? THATS LIKE SAYING YOU'VE GOT A BRAIN NOW GET LOST AND LISTEN TO CRAPY GREENDAY YOU BLOODY EJEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT MUSIC YOU'D KNOW THAT QUEEN WEREN'T INDIE!!!!!!!!!!! the teacher wasn't very impressed but she's a huge Queen fan so i was let off my friends still laugh at me when i bring up 'QUEEN AND ARTROOM' |

icefire 14.01.2006 09:18 |
i think thats the problem for most of us...i am also very pissed off when people ignore queen and deny anything i say them..once we were talking about the lightings of old days..i told them about effects queen used at that time and they just said that at that time there only were three light-spots during shows:red yellow and green lights.. when anybody that doesnt know the fact and keep denying it talks to me i get completely pissed off..and that was one of many cases..but i am strong nad holding on for QUEEN |
Daniel vZ 14.01.2006 09:25 |
Wow, I almost looks like I'm the only one who hasn't got any problems when telling I love Queen music :) |
sandssavvy 14.01.2006 18:52 |
I had the same trouble a few times at school. I was wearing my Queen shirt in History class this year. Some moron whose name I don't recall turns around in his seat when he hears me and James discussing Bohemian Rhapsody and hidden meanings. He said, "There was no meaning the singer was a f*g who was too busy getting f*cked by a guy with AIDS to make the song right." So I told him he was pathetic. He said, "I'm not the one wearing the Queer shirt." I said, "No, you're the one who tries to prove his masculinity by insulting a dead man." I can never tolerate those idiots. To many people I know are homophobes, and two of my closest friends are bi. |
sandssavvy 14.01.2006 19:03 |
There are of course other kids at my school who like Queen. A lot of my friends like it, James likes it, and a few kids in my History class think Bohemian Rhapsody was pure genius. A lot of other people bangged their heads to Hammer to Fall when I used it for an assignment in History. I've also caught people randomly singing Another One Bites the Dust and We Are the Champians. Queen is timeless for those with taste. |
Lord Blackadder 15.01.2006 11:06 |
They confiscated it! Get the fuck out of that school. Who do they think they are? |
deleted user 15.01.2006 11:24 |
It's amazing how bloody eejits in school will gladly sing along to Queen songs without knowing they're Queen songs and then turn around and say they're a pile of shite. The look on their faces when you tell them that was a Queen song they were just listening to. Priceless. It happens at home too. If I'm expected to sit in the living room listening to other members of my family's music on the stereo with them so I can hear how supposedly great it is, I expect that my family would at least have the decency to do the same for me. But no. After an hour of listening to Green Day on New Year's Eve with my family, they all got up and walked out as soon as Queen went on the stereo, leaving me sitting there on my own. Fuckers. |

Let the fuckheads think like that... they're the ones missing out on REAL music... unlike the shit that they listen to. "When I'm gone They'll say (the fuckheads)we're all fools and we don't understand (well they're the ones who don't understand because they can't appreciate real music) Oh be strong Don't turn your heart We're all You're all For all For always" (so let the idiots listen to their rap shit and get headaches from listening to some gangsta who says words that promote violence and hate instead of singing a beautiful song about love or whatever) [End part of Teo Torriate changed from my point of view] Peace darlings! |

Brillant FLASH! My fave though are the hypocrites. You know those ones who contradict the shit out of themselves. the ones who sing we are the champions or WWRY ad nauseum, and then turn around and say Queen is a bunch of talentless hacks or f**s. And then you tell them that thats what they were just singing. Thats when you watch the jaws drop and then the word vomit comes out, where they try to fix their huge F** up! Pissers... |

Oh my god - torture! I was at my friend's house on Friday after school and she made me listen to Mariah Carey and Westlife. Oh the horror! Luckily I brought along my Queen CDs and put them on but she kept skipping through every song, "Don't like this, don't like that..." Grrr! |

Thats what i have to deal with every friday when i get a ride with one of my friends to work, they blast the bass line so loud im in the back seat about to yammy all over the floor... And if i have to hear that Laffy Taffy song one more damn time i think im going to just jump out of the car while its moving on the damn Arterial (a highwayesque mainway in my city)!!! I just dont understand how people can see some song where they refer to a womans ladyparts as "laffy taffy" as a fantastic and listenable and loveable song... This is what our society has sunk into... I can live with it at an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM at like a dance or w/e because i dont attend that many, but its like damn....
