what do you guys fink is a good way to introduce someone to Queen?
Obviously it depends on the person, in my situation a friend of mine only knows the more famous Queen songs, say, about half of the Greatest Hits I tracklist, and i fink he'd be open for more.
So, i was wondering would it be best to give him a copy of GH 1 & 2 and settle him in gently or go for a more album-based approach, maybe even chronologically ('Queen' through to 'Made In Heaven')?
What would you suggest?
I introduced all my mates to Queen.
By showing them my albums greatest hits and chat alot about Queen Queen Queen get it in to there head that there the best band ever! It worked for me, should work for you...
No one can run away from Queen there coming to get ya mmmwwwwwaaahahahaaa.... :P
Lend them GHI and II. But remember to add that Queen wrote stuff that kicks more ass than any of those on the Hits albums.
Another excellent way to introduce someone to Queen is to make them listen to Queen II and ADATR.

Yeah, they were at their peak in the early to mid seventies!
my first album i heard in full was the works
first i bought was gh2
i remember when i first heard queen II i was schocked
it took me a while to like it
i think best way to getting into queen is greatest hits, and than you explore other stuff and you realise that queen is much much more than that 34 songs, and then you get even more into queen
Fanks for all the ideas!
Yeah, maybe a 'Queen starter pack' sorta fing would be the way to go, Liam - cool idea, but I might try going for GH1 first (to keep it 'official') and then go from there (it worked for me - it was the only cassette my dad had in his car from the time I was five til i was 12 i fink!)...
I'll let you know the outcome as soon as I do!
Strap them into a chair, tape their heads upright, threaten to cut their eyelids off with a razor blade and make them watch GVH 1 and 2 until they can recite the lyrics to every song on cue.
