Great guitarists tend to look on wah wah pedals distastefully, since apparently the same effects can usually be duplicated with a slide, or some other non-electronic tricks and practice. They maybe purists though. The Red Special had so many sound possibilities, I don't think it needed a pedal.
I know Brian is using more modern stuff today, but doesn't he just depend on his guitar and the Deaky Amp?
I wish I could play electric guitar! But I'm stuck on acoustic for now, and it's deadly boring.

And yet most guitarists of note have used one at some time or another. Off the top of my head Clapton on White Room, Beck on Ain't Superstitious, Hendrix, SRV, Slash, Michael Schenker used his for getting his tone, Steve Vai, Satriani, Hammett, Dimebag, Brian May and the list goes on.
A wah works as a bandpass filter. You can't mimic this with a slide. Some lap steel players have used the tone and volume to create a wah effect.
The important thing is to use them with taste and not as a gimmick. Gimmicks are looked upon with disdain.
Yep thought so.Thomas Quinn,I know its a echo pedal but my question was,is that what Brian pushes down, with his foot. But thankyou for answering me,and Peneration_Guru,I was just making sure,If thats what she was talking about that, because how am i ment to know, what that is.My music teacher has NEVER told me,because I've never, mentioned it!
Heres my answer anyways:
Yes and know,it depends what song but I do agree with you, dixie :p

Yes and no,it depends what song he plays, for example, now im here should echo because its the guitar is hard rock, not heavy metal, but the way Brian plays :p.But I do agree with you dixie :p
From what I can see on the Video it's a 'Cry Baby' Wah pedal.
Technically there is no such thing as an echo pedal, they are delay pedals, however they tend to look slightly smaller, that design is pretty well always a Wah pedal or a volume or swell pedal.
Brian has used them all to good effect over the years to the extent that you hardly notice them however they add something to each track.
The delay pedals Brian uses are generally positioned on his 'Cornish' pedal/switch set-up to the left of the Wah pedal.
Not sure if he still uses Pete Cornish to design his rigs but up to this point he has.
