By the way, I ask the question not only on a literal level, but also on a figurative and even metaphorical level. There is just so much ambiguity when it comes to Freddie Mercury: dominant or passive, gay or straight, fairy or clone, baritone or tenor, etc...To me he seems to be everything simultaneously. |

I don't see what's so bad about this topic(?). And I know the answer. Quite easy really. You can hear it in his music.... He was both. He could sing both the top register and the bottem register. I.e., a Baritone and a tenor range plus his falsetto. Your welcome. |

^ It really seems like this thread didn't go away....so here is the answer Jim Hutton mentioned in his book that Freddie prefers to be a "taker" ...just a short half sentence ( maybe edited in the english version ) On those trips to New York...A big "Queen" dressed in leather opens the door, than we put our clothes in bags and they get stored. Inside the club they tied people with chains under the bar ( wonder for wich reason )...there was a area with different rooms like clinic / Sado/Maso / Darkroom Sex...Freddie used those rooms - Me personally I don't.
