Yeah its strange and very gruesome. I remember the first time I saw it I threw up a little in my mouth. I was like 10 or 12 years old. The only thing that gets to me about that movie is that the animal killings are real.

Did they show that movie in actual theatres? Didnt they show that movie like in drive-ins along with all the other underground horror movies?
Well, I'll tell you this.
I was born in Colombia, and I lived there until I was 17. Because the movie was actually shot there, I remember that back in the early 80s the media made a huge deal about the movie itself and how it's been banned on several countries. There were are a lot of stories written about how actual people from tribes were killed for the sole purpose of making the movie. The animal slaughterings are actually real, and the director brought all the actors to an Italian TV show just to prove that none of them were killed during shooting.
When you're a kid a lot of things are told among your group of friends about what's forbidden, and you're curious to find about what and why is something being extrictly restricted to you. 'Cannibal Holocaust' took things to a much higher level because it was a movie so horrific that even adults didn't want other adults to watch it. I remember a lot of kids saying: - "Hey, I saw 'Cannibal Holocaust'" - expecting other kids to hold them in a higher sort of respect for actually seeing it.
After all, in those days 'Hannibal Holocaust' made Friday the 13th and Nightmare On Elm Street look like 'My Little Pony'.
Yeah, I heard that Rugero Daodato had to go to trial to proove that no people were actually killed during the making of the movie. But yeah I know that the animal killings were real, which sucks. The only other movie which to me kind of makes me fell queesy is "Snuff." Arent there rumors that the final scene in the movie when the director kills the actress really happend, that he killed her on film?
I remember once downloading a couple of clips of 'Faces Of Death' with my friend, and I don't think I could watch more than 5.
I don't know how can anyone have the stomach to watch 1 hour of footage of real footage of people dying. As Barry said a lot of that could very possibly be fake, but I think a lot of the foreign footage seemed real.
from the few clips ive seen of faces of death they seemed real to me. I can never watch that movie for more than 5 minutes like Mr. Jinlges cause i feel like im going to throw up. There was one clip I saw when a militia in central america cut off a guys penis, man I swear I was scared to go pee just thinking of that clip, lol.

Go have sex with a baseball mitt.
Most of those 'ultra-realistic' death/slash/snuff films are stomachable if you mentally prepare yourself for them.
Yeah, the animal killings were a bit stupid. Poor turtle.
That's an interesting fact Jingles
