so tell me, Hollywood has made a movie about the doors yea? They've now made a movie about Ray Charles yea? and all the other legends in our time and past. But the one thing that I am soooo eager to see on the big screen is a movie about Freddie. Honestly, i would really pay what ever it takes to see it. wouldnt you? there's a fear that someone might depict his life the wrong way, and misuse the legacy he left behind. but the point of watching a movie, is entertainment.
for once i can share my love for freddie with my friends, and they can see his life, and be awed as i am still today.
i wait for the day for this to happen. maybe one day i can do it. it has always been my dream.
has anyone ever seen a movie about him??
cause i havnt.
and if not..what are your thoughts about seeing Freddie on the bigscreen.
We had a discussion who could play Freddie in a movie. In my opinion Freddie is too much of a persona to be imitated by some Hollywood actor. No offense to the Hollywood actors, but who could play Fred's live. You can live it, but you ain't gonna play it.
why not our beloved paul rodgers?
After all he trained a lot to be like freddie...
who could be brian?
roger?
john!!!!!?
is there anyone in this board who feels to take part to a casting like that?
Why, for God's sake, based only on Jim's book? I think people would prefer a story of his rise and his life, rather than a gay love story. The authors could write their own screenplay, based on the info from different sourses.I wish someone made such a movie! But I cannot think of
a suitable actor for this role, too.

Do you think people (non-Queen fans) fans would like to know technical details of his voice, recording information etc.? They - non-Queen fans - would like to know about private side of his life too. Put some 'funny' facts (about where Freddie wrote Crazy Little Thing Called Love, for instance) and here the Hollywood version of Freddie's life is. I don't want any Hollywood movies about Queen nor about Freddie. It's my own personal opinion.

They'll get X-rated (NC-17 at least) thing I think...
LMAO!
But...they actually ARE making a film of Motley Crue's ''The Dirt'', and it's in preproduction now with the band choosing a director and cast input.
Now...if they can make a film of ''The Dirt'' which should be rated XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!!!!!!!!!
Damn they can surely make a film of Freddie which by comparison might be rated G!

I actually have to agree with you on this, UNLESS....they could pay Freddie's MUSIC and career as much class, respect, esteem, and integrity of say Ray Charles' biopic Ray (and Ray was a heroin addict, woman beating womanizer cheat on his wife and his mistress, abused his bandmates, but the film was VERY respectfu, and actor Jamie Fox was very reverential and I think won the Academy Award!
Or the new biopic film about Johnny Cash, who was in prison, the ORIGINAL outlaw hellraiser, drug addict...but the new film ''I Walk The Line'' is already getting RAVES because it focuses on his MUSIC and the great love/muse of his life June Carter cash, and was cast GREAT with Oscar worthy performances from Jaoquin Pheonix and Reese Witherspoon and the critics LOVE it!
So, if Hollywood CHOSE to treat Freddie as the great ARTIST and MUSICIAN that he was and cast and direct it right, then and ONLY then, could it work ok.
if they did a movie about freddie i can see tim curry doing freddie from the mid 80's and tords the end of his life. the younger freddie i still can't picture any one yet. elton john would have to be in the movie and all the other people that were around in his life maybe brian, roger and john would play themselves in the movie if someone made it. i would think if it was made some of the ticket proceddes would go to aids charities especially mercurypheonix aids fund.
if the movie was made it should be called "I'M MR.BAD GUY"
one thing if the movie was made the acameny loves movies about AIDS and rock stars. almost every movie that had the suvject of AIDS has an oscar.
There was a movie mooted around about 5 years ago by Tribeca - the actor who plays Will in 'Will&Grace' was proposed as playing Freddie at one stage in his life
The idea looks as if it has come to nothing with Tribeca now involved with WWRY
No, Serry. I didn't say that a movie should only be about Freddie's voice and music. But I did say that Jim Hutton's book isn't the only source that could be used for a screeenplay.
Hell no.I don't think the directors would picture him a a genius that he was, quite sure the film would be all about his gay lifestyle, parties and stuff like that...Maybe 10 minutes about some band called Queen.Who the fuck want to see this?I know I don't.
i think johnny depp would be great in the role of freddie
check out edward scissorhands compared to freddie's slightly mad
and with a mustache in donnie brasco
