For the record I hope this Queen+ Paul Rodgers collaboration last forever. The NJ show was incredible and I think a studio album would just flat out rock!
But here is a suggestion that I am suprised was never thought of before Paul and may make a great singer if Paul goes back to being a solo artist in the near future. What does everyone think of Chris Thompson from Manfred Mann's Earth Band?
He has obvious Queen connections. An amazing voice. As well as a back catalog of songs to rival Paul Rodgers. The only downside is I don't think his name has the marquee value that Paul Rodgers has. But people will know the voice when they hear it.
How about a concert with the Queen songs plus "The Runner", Blinded By The Light", "Davy's On The Road Again", "For You" and "You're The Voice"! Plus Brian and Chris could do "Rollin Over" from Back to the Light.
Correct me if I am wrong, but to this day I am suprised Chris was never seriously mentioned(if mentioned at all) as a touring partner.
Take care,
Thomas
Not enough profile, no "spark" on all the occasions he sang with them.
You can't reverse engineer this. It happened at the Fender show, they had some chemistry, that's it.
(no offence)
Studio album with Paul, please! If they do all-new material, who knows? It just may be the start of a whole new era with Queen. Think of the new fan base that could be created. Good blend of the old and the new.
Chris is good but Paul still sounds more suited for the blues-based numbers.
I love Chris Thompson but no. I hope they keep doing forever. I saw them at the Bowl. Just amazing. I really hope they do some studio work and maybe a couple more tours!
Hell no!
I always thought Rufus Wainright would be a good try. I doubt Queen will get another singer. I think we were all lucky with PR and I hope he will stay. I've heard his solo stuff and it sucks. Hopefully he will realize this and stick with Brian and Roger.
Paul's solo stuff doesn't suck!!! The songs I've heard (allright, I'll admit, it weren't a lot of songs) were pretty good.
I'm crazy about Allright now, Feel like makin' love and Can't get enough of your love
Great songs!
Paul is fantastic and put on a great show....I sure hope Paul continues working and writing new music with Queen (Brian and Roger)
If not, I hope Queen would take this show on the road again with Jeff Scott Soto...who has amazing stage presence and knows there songs as well as the superfans do......I don't know if I could get too excited to see Chris Thompson singing songs....you really need to get out and rock the place if it is going to be a Queen+ show

Well said. It has to be about who Brian and Roger spark with.
