I was on Brian's web site this weekend and i saw something that Paul said that really ticked me off.He said something to the effect of the reason he left Bad Company was he did not want to be a part of corporate rock and led us to think this was happening again now with Queen.First of all-you have said you were about to retire before this all happened and that it was so very lucky for you.Now that you have played in front of full arenas, are you saying now that your "solo"career is on hold and and important to you.Bullshit!!I never would have thought that now that things are really rolling and that the market for studio work and bigger tours were to come, that PR would be the road block.I hope Bri and Roj realize the fan base has grown thru the years and if this guy wants out, move on and keep on rockin.sorry so long |

well .. they all just wanted to do this tour, and for now they'll probably just do one studio album and that's it. QPR was never intended to be a new rockband that has to be around till they "really fucking die"; it's just for the fun, as long as it lasts. |

stateside fan wrote: No Hankster he came off as if the Japan thing was it.After that they were done.ye .. allright .. they'll do Japan..more US gigs and then some studio stuff. But after that, I don't think that Bri&Rog will do much more stuff together with Paul |

I watched the VH-1 Classic interview with Paul and Roger whilst flying back from the hollywood gig last night... When asked what's next Paul came off as Japan was it...and very iffy with anything beyond that. ;-( |

Think about it if you're Paul Rodgers. You've had a successful career in many bands. He's basically a rented singer, albeit a well paid one. Artists want to do their own stuff. Could you see Brian going on tour as a hired gun on a Bad Company tour? Doubtful, he'd be itching to do Queen stuff, and rightfully so. |
That guy who digs energy domes 24.10.2005 11:17 |
Paul is simply not fit for Queen. I do admit that the "queen is not queen without freddie" crusade is getting old but theres so many people better for the job. Their 5 live album with George Michael was good why wouldn't they work with him again? |
Boy Thomas Raker 24.10.2005 11:23 |
At the risk of sounds like a broken record, Freddie is irreplaceable. That doesn't mean that Brian and Roger shouldn't tour, it just shows that no one can sing Queen but Freddie. George Michael would be great for the straight ballads, but couldn't do the rockers or campier stuff. Paul Rodgers is great on the rockers, but not subtle enough to carry the other stuff. He's a rough and tumble blues guy, George Michaels a great singing pop guy but Freddie could do it all, IN HIS OWN STYLE. That's why every one will fall falt in comparison, Freddie was a once in a lifetime talent. |

i love this site so much.thank you for always giving great feedback.for years i thought my wife and i were the last queen fans on earth-or at least in USA.Finding this site has been wonderful so thanks to you all.Back to the point-i know Freddie is one of a kind and will never be relaced, but i will always yearn to here my fave songs live so i want badly for this to remain for a few years.Look at some of these geezer bands-Queen blows them off the stage.I saw Audioslave, probably the most popular rock act in US,and the QPR show was far superior so why stop? |

I think it would be foolish of Paul to leave. I went to his site, saw his solo 'Joe Fabulous' video. Not to dog on him, but let's just say that the song is not so fabulous. He is a vocalist, lyricist in need of stronger songwriters like Brian and Roger. The Q+PR thing is really working. The 'ROTC' dvd is truly wonderful. I hope they do an album, but think it might be better for all concerned to create a new band name so that they have a fresh concept of their band. Then they can tour with new stuff, Paul's stuff and Queen's. Maybe a good name for them would be 'Royal Company' or 'Royal Blue'(Royal for Queen, Blue for blues and D. Miranda being from Blue Oyster Cult). Certainly 'Bad Queen' wouldn't work. I'm not pissed at Paul. I will love that dude forever for bringing my band back together! |

"I'm not pissed at Paul. I will love that dude forever for bringing my band back together! " Amen-I love him too. |
Knute 31.10.2005 01:18 |
AMEN for sure! How could anyone be pissed at that man? He did such a fantastic job considering the circumstances. I was a fan of Paul's before Q+PR, and he just grew in stature in my eyes. He like Freddie was, is very much a one off. Artists like him don't grow on trees. You know? So if they go their seperate ways, I'm so glad I got to experience a show. It was without a doubt, one of the greatest concerts I've been to. |
The Stealer 31.10.2005 10:27 |
This indeed is a powerful combination-Paul and Bri/Roger. How long will it last?? Who knows- but it raised each these men to a higher level musically and perhaps spiritually as well. When they go their separate ways--I will be supporting Paul as well Just as much as I support Queen..think how much he has grown and how his solo stuff will be now!!! This is so magical--I hope it lasts for a while. |

If they record a new album consisting of all new tunes, imo, they shouldn't use "Queen". I think there are people who reluctantly coaxed themselves to call this "Queen+Paul Rodgers" tour by defining it as the one in which Brian, Roger and Paul Rodgers intented to play Queen numbers as far as they could do for both the old fans who have desperated for Queen live stages and the new ones who came to like Queen after 1991. |

The brand name is too important. "Queen + Paul Rodgers" it is, and "Queen + Paul Rodgers" shall it ever be. Thus sayeth the Lord. |

Plus the fact that they've done like 40 dates on three different continents, and sold a CD and DVD under the name of Queen + Paul Rodgers. It would be kind of foolish to change it now. |
