I saw Almost Queen a couple of months ago and I was floored by their performance... it was AMAZING... the name says it all... ALMOST Queen. Insane! They rocked. link Check it out for yourselves. Almost Brian (or Brian Maybe as they call him) and Freddie are... well... almost Bri and Freddie... Almost Roger is i a little off and Almost John is the least who looks alike. Anywho, they rock! And they're real nice they hang out with fans at the end of their shows and talk about Queen. |

Almost Queen ARE fabulous. Joe (Freddie) Randy (John) Tom (Brian) Johnny (Roger) We hung out with them and were handing out their postcards before the QPR show last week. They are a great bunch of guys, both on and off stage. Go see them if you can. You won't be disappointed! |

I saw Magic - A Kind Of Queen about this time last year in the Bournemouth Pavillion. As far as acting like Queen goes: In some ways yes, white trousers and yellow jacket for the lead singer. Striped t shirt and sun glasses for the drummer, the red special copy for the guitarist, and thats about it. Sounding like Queen: Instumentally the music is about as close u could possibly get to any live version queen ever played. Hearing songs like the show must go on, days of our lives and innuendo live were awesome. Vocally they were simialr to Queen using those huge block harmonies. Also very impressive. The showmanship was also there from most of the group which added to the whole spectacle of the show. As for technical ability in instrumental and vocal work, the group was flawless. I think when they first came on to the stage i was worried before each song started that their rendition may not be great. I was so wrong!! These guys, mostly in their 40's and 50's were amazing. I would reccommend seeing them if any of you get the chance. I hope some of you found this interesting. Thanks Matt |

It's a Kinda Magic is a great tribute band that I checked out in Toronto on October 15th. Musically they were really good and Craig Pesco sounds very similiar to Freddie. They played all the hits of course, but also some lesser known ones. Three of the members - Craig, Brett Millican (the drummer with the terrible wig!), and Colin Hill - were a bit younger than I was expecting and are very nice people (including bassist Sean Nolan). They just finished a North American tour here last week, but I highly recommend them to other fans. |
