Just read it in the Oct. 28 Entertainment Weekly Magazine as he is trying to get in on a ''younger marketing demographic.
Trouble is, he is a mercurial, greed driven, corporate takeover shark/pirhanna, control freak who will change the entire concept that myspace.com was originally intended for and STILL IS, ...
....a place for unsigned new bands as well as signed bands to get exposure for their music that radio will NOT give them, and MANY artists love myspace from The Darkness to Death Cab For Cutie.
PLUS.....Myspace.com is totally FREE yet LEGAL.
He is SO going to screw this up and EW Magazine sort of gave the same thoughts I have.
This is F**Ked up.
Sergey, thanks.
Does that bastard Murdoch have to control every aspect of International media. He is like the villian in which Pierce Brosnan James Bond film was it, correct me if I'm wrong here ''Goldeneye'', wher one man controlled evry news source, every media, digital, broadcast, around the globe, and force fed McCarthyism crap to the world and could literally ruin people's reputations and lives, kill off all freedom of art/expression/news, etc.
Myspace.com though plenty of every day people use it to blog or meet friends, main intention and goal has always been to be a FREE and VIABLE outlet for ALL forms of music and bands to get their musoc exposure, regardless of whther or not they are signed to a record label, whether or not they do or do NOT even have a manager, to get exposure and airplay since radio is owned by global conglomerates like Murdoch and it's these bands ONLY way to get exposure and get their music out to people.
The guy that owned it Chris something or other, I have read that he was selling it because it's worh almost half a billion dollars, but did he have to sell it to Murdoch?
BTW it sold for almost $400 million plus stocks. It's all in EW Magazine.
I am VERY worried about the future of music and bands now.
Everytime music finds a way to have freedom of expressiona dna platform, now that MTV sucks and radio sucks, myspace.com was saving the day, and now that is SCREWED!!!!!
I re-read the articler and he paid $580 million for it.
Get this.... the October 15, 2005 issue of NME Magazine, that just hit the USA, has an antire article in it that must have been done before the sale took place, saying how great myspace.com is because it gives exposure to ALL bands and ALL types of music that do NOT get radio airplay.
But the headline of the NME article says that what's great about myspace.com is something to the effect that it is a grassroots, by and for the bands and fans website that...
...sticks it to and is not run by...
...quote..THE MAN....endquote. meaning the corporate, greedy, lying idiots.
Not anymore, Rupert Murdoch is the EPITOME of the ultimate ''The Man''. It doesn't get any worse than him.
If you give a rats ass about music and bands that don't get radio airplay and exposure since radio and MTV are CRAP, then you WOULD give a damn, as myspace.com is internationally recognized and both successful bands with record contracts and new bands...from The Darkness and Queen For A Day, to MUCH more are ON THERE!, and have said it is the only real and quality exposure they get for their music...and out to fans who otherwise would never get to know about them and hear their music.
This is VERY bad for bands and he state of music.

Not really. I doubt he'll shut it down. And QFAD won't get radio play due to the fact they haven't released a single. Good cover band but I prefer Queen. Darkness singles are on the radio.
You are flipping out for no reason because I can still listen to bands music on there! And the Darness logo is a copy of Queen's logo lol. link link
