Just bought their new CD/DVD yesterday "Friday 13th". Pretty good. Wish QUeen would do something like this, a two disc set in a CD case, one disc is the DVD with the concert and bonus footgae etc, and the second disc is the concert on CD all for the tidy not too shabby sum of £16.99. Enough about Queen Productions selling ethics...
This is a good little set. I have not had a chance to sit down and watch it all, but I've had a flick, and it looks and sounds really good. Their drummer who I really like, Ryan Dusick, has muscle problems, so they've got in another drummer for touring while he rests, and I don't like his sound, he sounds a little too "sessions musician" like, kinda robotic. This is the only let down. And the singer, Adam Levine, christ can he play the guitar. They are a deceiving band, with their pop tunes, but live this fella likes to rock. I wish they'd do more songs like Shiver.
Either way, it's worth a purchase (if you like them, of course).
I have 'Songs About Jane', and let me tell you that while pop is universally regarded as a disposable genre, Maroon 5 make it respecatable.
They might be the biggest pop band since Duran Duran.
Well when i heard their first single "Harder To Breathe" i liked it, but i thought it was Jamiroquai ;) ..anyway buyed the single...heard the cd: nice, but not special. Dunno about the new cd, at least i'm curious..so that's a good sign. :D
Oh, I didn't download the whole album...I just downloaded that song on Itunes awhile ago and bought the album later on. :) I hate those free downloading sites because they always corrupt my computer (not to mention the whole principle of it, of course!)
Sorry but they are awful. Pop pap for me. I generally like any sort of guitar music like this, but not Maroon 5. Maybe it's the girlie surrondings but I like The Killers so maybe I just don't like them.
