So....after the way Queen + Paul rocked the Meadowlands is there any chance they will return to the USA to do a full fledged tour?
I was at the NJ show and my mixed emotions about it flew out the window once they started rocking. Freddie would have been proud.
God Save The Queen!
I think they will be back, especially when you consider that Brian said on his website "I think it was quite the most amazing thing I have been part of for a long time."

God I hope it's nothing to do with Jim Beach.
I would imagine it has a lot to do with him..
Brian would probably make the decision more from the point of view of pleasing the fans, but I bet it would be all about the Benjamins to Jim Beach. Of course, Roger and Paul might have a say, as well..;-)
Doesn't look hopefull; according to Brian in this month's Guitarist Magazine he is reluctant to put together a 2-3 month US tour in view of family commitments, writing an astronomy tome with Sir Patrick Moore and finishing his PhD thesis in Tenerife.
Personally, I don't think the tour will happen after the poor showing of ROTC in terms of US album sales, maybe the DVD will fare better, but I wouldn't hold my breath for a full-on arena tour - will it sell out?

ROTC did not sell well anywhere really. I still say a full US is a possibility.

They'll let him finish his thesis after 30 years? Is he just going to finish it or is he actually completing his PhD? (I guess I could read the article . . . but I don't have it.)
Crazy Little Thing dear...i think Brian would like to finish his thesis after all this time. It's one of those things i've heard him talk about for a long time..one of those projects he's always wanted to get to but never had the time.
Maybe when he retires...that would be a nice thing to do when he has more time to himself. It will probably give him some sort of completion within himself to do so. Brian's a nostalgic sort of chap...:) I wish him the best in doing so!!
Ok, here is the scoop I got on the back stage tour in NY/NJ before the show. Yes, they are coming back. The tour manager said they are coming back. She has worked with U2 and Elton John.

I don't recall that being said.. When did you hear that on the backstage ripoff, I mean tour? ;-)
It's cool to hear from the tour manager that they are coming back. What it really boils down to is what kind of offers they get from promoters in the U.S. Since the 2 shows this week are doing pretty well, the offers should come rolling in. My guess is that they won't be playing 18,000 seaters, but more likely sheds and smaller arenas. I don't think we will see ticket prices as steep as these 2 shows either. When you are only doing 2 shows in the states with no guarantee of more, you can be pretty sure people will be willing to pay a pretty penny for tickets. As well they did, since all the high priced tickets were scooped up in the first few days.
I was in the first group. When we first got on the arena floor we were sitting down. A person asked' why only 2 shows'. The lady responded 'to test the waters'. Then the person asked 'how it looked'. She said 'yes they are coming back'. She said kinda like she shouldnt be saying it.
If Queen comes back next summer, they can sell out the Arts Center for 2 nights.
Outdoor summer shows attract a lot of fans, who aren't necessarily big fans of the bands that are featured.
The Arts center holds approx. 20K,same as the Meadowlands and the rent is about 80% cheaper.
That's the reason that you no longer see summer shows at the Meadowlands.
A lawn ticket would go for about $40 bucks including the surcharge.

It sold particularly poorly in the US - peaked at 84

According to inetrview - he's got an opportunity to return to Tenerife to finish it - perhaps these observatories are booked-up some time in advance
