for those who go to see London 2nd gig and don't want to know... You can still avoid reading :) PS Those who don't understand. Dream theater, when plays two gigs in one city covers a classic album in its entirety. Previously they did Metallica's "Master of Puppets" and Iron Maiden "Number Of the Beast". Band plays for 3 hours, so they play their stuff, 15 minutes break and than some album. On this tour they're doing this in London. ps Title edited as there is nothing to spoil anymore :) |

I was there :) Really an amazing experience. Add to the fact that they cover this great album that they had Teresa Thomason on guest vocals (they also played the spirit carries on with her...) and you have an evening to remember. The complete setlist was like this: 1. The Root Of All Evil 2. Afterlife 3. Just Let Me Breathe 4. Lie 5. Raise The Knife 6. These Walls 7. Never Enough 8. Endless Sacrifice ~~~Intermission~~~ SPOILER 9. Speak to Me/Breathe 10. On The Run 11. Time 12. The Great Gig In The Sky* 13. Money 14. Us And Them 15. Any Color You Like 16. Brain Damage 17. Eclipse ~~~Encore~~~ 18. The Spirit Carries On* 19. In The Name Of God *Featuring Teresa Thomason On the Dream Theater website some snippets from the cover album can be found: link |

And if you add the fact that on the first night they played full Octavarium... What a brilliant night(s) this is going to be!!! And man- how about "Raise the Knife"?! This is a track that features only on Fan Club CD!!! Was never released! And a Majesty demo... Great, great stuff!!! |

The same goes for Octavarium. Well, you can't have it all if you go to 1 show only. Raise the Knife was also released as a B-side, or not? I'm not that much into what singles were released by DT actually. |
Fenderek 14.10.2005 06:21 |
I recently joined DT fan club and now I'm taking party in lottery (bad word... :) ) to win... backstage passes after second London show, "meet and greet" thing :) ! Would be awesome! |

Fenderek 24.10.2005 05:51 |
It's TODAY! Octavarium live is a dream come true :) |
Fenderek 25.10.2005 04:18 |
1. The Root Of All Evil 2. Panic Attack 3. Another Won 4. A Fortune In Lies 5. Under A Glass Moon 6. Caught In A Web 7. Peruvian Skies 8. Fatal Tragedy 9. About To Crash (Reprise) 10. Losing Time/Grand Finale **INTERMISSION** 11. As I Am 12. Endless Sacrifice 13. Never Enough 14. Sacrificed Sons 15. Octavarium **ENCORE** 16. Pull Me Under/Metropolis Pt. 1 Bloody amazing it was. OCTAVARIUM live is not a piece of music- it's THE EXPERIENCE! Jordan playing on "continuum"- mindfuckingblowing! Remember when in PERUVIAN SKIES they used to put snippets of HAVE A CIGAR and ENTER SANDMAN? When everybody was waiting for them they played instead... WISH YOU WERE HERE and WHEREVER I MAY ROAM! And hell- they did fit!!! Great gig, it will be a completely different setlist today :) Generally second part better than first (more prog but also heavier). Oh- Another Won is an old Majesty track... Imgine Queen playing Smile in like 1986... |

< jealous > They're coming back to Toronto in the spring..... Have a blast tonight Tom, with Dark Side!!! < /jealous > |
Fenderek 26.10.2005 03:55 |
1. The Root Of All Evil 2. The Mirror 3. Lie 4. Afterlife 5. Just Let Me Breathe 6. These Walls 7. I Walk Beside You 8. Raise The Knife 9. In the Name of God **INTERMISSION** PINK FLOYD - DARK SIDE OF THE MOON With special guests Theresa Thomason (Backing Vocals) and Mike Kidson (Saxophone) 10. Speak To Me 11. Breathe 12. On The Run 13. Time 14. The Great Gig In The Sky 15. Money 16. Us And Them 17. Any Colour You Like 18. Brain Damage 19. Eclipse **ENCORE** 20. The Spirit Carries On (w/ Theresa Thomason) 21. Learning To Live So- the second day they repeated ONE song, ONE! Are you watching Brian? ;) It was... Mindblowing I guess is the only word... I... Quite honestly I think it was better than those 7 Queen gigs I saw this year put together... Almost entire Floyd set I was close to tears and I finally broke during The Great Gig In The Sky- Theresa was singing like an angel! They played Floyds with so much respect yet they managed to add something theirs- especially Brain Damage and Eclipse sounded a bit harder. Harder, but not heavy- this was... it's the side of DT I never thought existed... It was... Yeah, exactly- I don't even know the words to describe it... Of course it was a better gig than the first one- the setlist, Floyds, but also the audience, we rocked bloody Hammersmith. This night should go into history... I have no reason to live anymore... ;) |
Fenderek 26.10.2005 05:34 |
Well, I just found out the gig ahs been recorded and videod (was ona balcony and didn't see that much) and it will be either a 20th Anniversary DVD (official) or at least an OFFICIAL BOOTLEG! YES! |

I think Amsterdam didn't have too much overlap as well. I think only 2 songs as well. I had the impression their version of money was a bit heavier then the original as well. |
