Well, the DVD is not out yet here in the US, from what I know. And yes, the CD has not sold well. I bought it, and I, for one, like it. Not the greatest Queen performance, but one that deserves at least a little credit. Besides, I think that people would rather see Queen live than hear them. I predict that the DVD will do surprisingly well, hopefully breaking at least the Top 20. If i'm wrong, then slam and flame me for all that your heart desires. Bring it lol |

I bought the cd on monday and it is truly awful. Paul Rodgers belongs singing country, not Queen. A good choice would have been Antony Keidas from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. |

Not to defy your opinion, BPP, but I absolutely loved the "Return of the Champions" CD. I was very glad to hear Brian and Roger cranking out Queen hits again - and they rocked and will continue to do so, whether they use the Queen+ title or not. I had the great honor of being invited to see Brian and Roger perform (as Queen, without Paul) at the grand opening of WWRY in Las Vegas, NV on the 8th of September, 2004. Though Freddie was not present, of course, the sheer energy of their short concert that night was astounding. Sure, Freddie's "spirit" was there - but more than that, Brian and Roger proved that they can still rock and roll. They sounded spectcular. Paul Rodgers has given Brian and Roger whatever motivation they needed to tour once again. There's quite a few of us who are quite content with their decision to tour, to market new CDs (even if they are #40 on the UK charts as we speak) and DVDs. I am well aware that you are completely displeased with their decision to tour as Queen+, but as 1/2 of Queen, of course they have the right to do so. I think that instead of raining of everyone's (well, maybe not everyone...) parade, perhaps you should be objective towards the new tour, towards Paul filling in for Freddie and towards Brian and Roger touting themselves as Queen. Of course it's different. Of course there's no Freddie or John. I don't expect this to change your mind - I'm just sick of windup posts and arguing. Let's come together on the music, whether Queen died in 1991 or not. |
