No, No, No ... not the Red Sox - The White Sox of course. I know those of you who live east of the Hudson River, but west of the Atlantic Ocean like to think that that the USA does not extend west of the Hudson River.
Short of a Cub-like collapse, the Red Sox will no longer be champions.
The WHITE Sox are up 2-0 in this best of 5 games 1st round American League Playoff Series.
red sox didnt live up to expectations this year. they got to the playoffs by wildcard. I thought was shitty as the Yanks played early-mid season they would ahve had full control of their division IMO
Red Sox fan, but we have it difficult since we don't have the starters from last year. Pedro is gone, Lowe is gone, Schiling hasnt been the same, so we can't always depend on Big Papi or Manny to win the games. If the Red Sox don't make I wish the White Sox win it all, reason? 1) I'd hate to see the Yankees win 2) Ozzie Guillen 3) they haven't won since 1917...
Wait... there is more US to the West?? Hmm, I must investigate!
PS: Braves, I guess. Maybe. I like to play baseball but it is dreadfully boring to watch. Football and soccer on the other hand...
If you were a typical ignorant American (like me) you would spend more time exploring mythical middle America (sometimes known as the heartland) instead of broadening your horizons and investigating the rest of the world. LOL
Oh yes, this may be a bit random and off topic but...
The Boston Red Sucks = couldn't win a world series for 80-somethin years
The New York Bankees = The best team Money can buy...lots and lots of money...
Paul, you got to raise the roof to WATC last year, had one hell of a season this year, and....
well, look on the bright side. You could be a transplanted Detroit fan cheering on both the Tigers and his new hometown Baltimore Orioles (aka 'Juicers')
After a while, er, like in May, your thoughts are not on pennants, but how many days til college football starts.
not overrated - just carrying too many injuries in the bullpen
they did incredibly well to make it this far considering
still - it's all over now til next year
what'll put the tin hat on it for me is if the Patriots injuries get the better of them too - Atlanta and denver coming up - with a beat up secondary....somehow the pressure of continually getting it 'done' when the odds say 'no-chance' seems to have got to them...the autumn sunday evenings will be different this year - the Pats have spoiled us these last few years
Well the dreaded Yankees tied up their series with the Angels.
I guess I will root for the Angels to win tommorrow and face the Sox on Tuesday, as I don't want any chance of the Yankees going to the World Series ... again.
I love baseball but I hate staying up till all hours of the morning to watch it! Purely because I stayed in Cleveland for a week, I suppose I support the Indians - they almost sneaked a wild card spot but choked in the last week of the regular season.
As for the World Series, I'd like to see the White Sox win it because they have been kind enough to let other teams take the title for the last 88 years!
Some may recall the ex-Cub factor where ex-Cub players on a team prevents that team from doing well in the playoffs.
Well there appears to be an ex-Sox factor that is leading the Sox toward the World Series.
Gaffino lets a ball go between his legs, Paul forgets to tag the batter after strike 3 on a bad pitch, and potential Cy Young winner Colon is unavailable to play against the Sox because of a back injury (incurred during gsme 5 against the Yankees).
... and now the Sox, leading 3-1, need only one more win to advance to the World Series.
Woo Hoo - Sox in World Series for the 1st time in 46 years ... beating the Angels 4 games to 1 with 4 straight complete games from the Sox starters, and holding the Angels to .179 batting average.
Well, I'm glad for ya, Rip. I didn't even know they were in until Monday afternoon. Had a concert to attend Sunday night;-)
Poor Houston last night. Another 'Donnie Moore/Dave Henderson' moment. It certainly took LaRussa off the hook for not pulling Carpenter in the 7th when Beckham took him deep.
If the Astros move on, this will hurt them against the ChiSox.
Wishing you luck.

I, as a Houstonian, am licking my wounds from last night, but the Astros just getting to the World Series was a major accomplishment in itself. I know, to win, would have been better, but we have a young, talented team and an AWESOME pitching staff, so WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GO 'STROS!!!!!!!!!!!
