WOW!
This used to be a track that I liked a lot, but often skipped. Like so many Queen tracks before it(Doing Alright, Sweet Lady, Staying Power, etc.), this song has become a classic to me after hearing a live version of it.
Thank you Hammersmith Odeon '79
Anyone who likes this song has got to get the Hammersmith '79 version! INCREDIBLE!!!
I've always loved this song in the studio but when they took it to the stage it became a much better song. Freddie playing piano during the solos added so much more and it really filled out the song. One of John's better songs.

yes, I think so, too!
I love its album ver., but live ver. is much better. Freddie's singing and playing piano and the entire band performance are so vibrant...and especially Hammersmith'79 ver. is great!
You nailed it! Part of it at least.
Freddie's piano banging is part of the improvement. Brian's guitar enthusiasm is another part. My favorite improvement though would have to be the vocal/bg vocal performance.
Oh, and just to clarify, I skip songs now and again but it's not like there is a Queen song I haven't heard 1000 times or more.
