Jim Morrison on vocals, John Deacon on bass, John Bonham on drums, Slash on guitar. Probably sounds like rubbish when all put together, but there ya go. |
GreatKingSam 03.10.2005 08:09 |
Michael Jackson on vocals, Sam Rivers on bass, John Bonham on drums, and Matt Bellamy and Jimi Hendrix sharing guitar duties perhaps... ...dunno if all that would work though? |
August R. 03.10.2005 08:16 |
Why not Brian on guitar? I think his orchestral sound would make great contribution to my fantasy band. Vocals, Robert Plant Guitar, Brian May Bass, Chris Squire Drums, Michael Giles Keyboards, Mike Pinder |

You're gonna ban those who like Brian's style most? Curse them? Tell them they're stupid? Man, ask your mother to explain to you why didn't she love you enough, sort it out and you'll post less crap, I can assure you... There are no stupid answers BTW- there are only stupid questions... And just for the record the band would be like this: Vocals- Paul Rodgers Guitar- John Petrucci or Steve Morse Drums- "Bonzo" Bonham Bass- Cliff Burton Hammond- Ian Lord |

Entwistle, John Paul Jones or John Deacon... Maybe Elton John playing the piano... And The Beatles should be there for the backing vocals :D ahaha Para el que escribio sobre Rata Blanca... asumo que sos argentino como yo! Un saludo especial! ;) |

Hmmm. Good topic! But come on, no need to shit on each other. *Bonnie Tyler. One of the few female voices I've heard that can ROCK so amazingly hard. I mean, none of this whiny crap you get these days. It's just a shame the instrumentation of a lot of her songs is so 80's, turns a lot of peoples off. *Gregory Hines. He was a heck of a mover. *Michael Jackson in 1983. Ok, Thriller was a stupid song really, he looks like a fool in the filmclip... but the man was an amazing mover, and had an incredible voice. I would pay good money to see someone like that rockin' out. To less shitty music. Someone I wouldn't want to see in a band - Steve Vai. He's got amazing speed, but his playing is uninteresting. Actually, on that subject - is that really Ralph Macchio playing guitar in Crossroads? Lemme tell you, if it is - he shouldn't have bothered with acting. I've busted at least two strings trying that high bended A he does at the end of that duel. *John Deacon on vocals. Just for the sheer novelty of it. I'm still shitty he didn't even try to sing one line on the Made in Heaven album, or No One But You. Ok - he's terrible, he admits it. But COME ON. *Again, an amazing guitar player is Paul Gilbert. But I don't find his songs terribly interesting. I wouldn't want him as a composer of any sort, but his incredible speed would rock. *Bon Scott. What a voice. *Mitch Mitchell. When watching Roger Taylor absolutely rock out on drums, I try and remember what it is that's familiar about it, and then DING I think back to Jimi Hendrix' band. *Jimi Hendrix - now, above someone said he's so great, yadaa yadaa... indeed. He was my biggest influence when I was about 8 years old. And is still, my favourite guitarist. But - I don't see him being in fantasy band. Truth is, he was miles more memorable than any act he was ever in, and thusly doesn't really belong in a supergroup. So I wouldn't have him in my 'fantasy band', I'd just reincarnate him. That's about it. Cheers and thanks for the interesting thread idea! |

This is so hard, because come on, let's be fair, Queen are not a bad bunch really. Elvis was an outstanding vocalist, as is Paul Rodgers, Roy Orbison etc... Just like Hendrix and Clapton on guitar but at a push, here we go :- Vocals/Piano - Freddie Mercury Guitar 1 - Brian May Guitar 2 - Jimi Hendrix Bass - Flea Drums - Ronnie Tutt Keyboards - Elton John Backing Singer 1 - Elvis Presley Backing Singer 2 - Roy Orbison Backing Singer 3 - Aretha Franklin Backing Singer 4 - Celine Dion And each concert would have the lighting of Pink Floyd and the effects of a Michael Jackson concert!!! |
john bodega 03.10.2005 12:48 |
THANKYOU! I was trying to remember that one... Roy Orbison. Barry Gibb accurately described this man as "the voice of God". Funny really, because outside of Queen, The Bee Gees had the most perfect harmonies I've ever heard in popular music (along with the Beatles). |

Oh man, we are talking some fun here. On vocals, who else but Freddie Mercury? The best, bar none. On the guitar, Eddie Van Halen. The Norse God of Rock 'n' Roll deserves this slot. On bass, Johnny Entwhistle. He stood still, while his basslines made the stage quiver. On drums, Ringo Starr. Say what you will in favour of Keith Moon, Roger Taylor, the guy from AC/DC (his name eludes me :P) and Neil Peart, Ringo's done some good work in his time, and he brings a load of character to the band. |

whats all this Eric Clapton instead of Brian. its no contest. read Queens greatest pix and there is a comment in there from Clapton and this is it word for word. "There are people these days who can do things on the guitar which are beyond my reach, theres one guy who plays with Queen who can do things i wouldnt dream of doing and i sincerely mean that". so there you have it. Brian is far superior to Clapton and Clapton says so himself. listen to Good Company for proof. |
