Source: Brianmay.com WILL PAUL + QUEEN = MORE MUSIC? The Queen + Paul Rodgers collaboration has proven to be a very fruitful one. There’s the massive European tour, the coming US concerts, the CD and the DVD coming soon. So the only thing that remains is for the group to record a studio album. Will it happen? Well, here’s Queen drummer, Roger Taylor... “I think really that’s what we’re trying to decide at the moment. I think Brian and I just starting to write again and it’d be nice, I think what we have to do is to make a record that stands or falls, well, that stands despite who makes that record. You know, it’s, so I think we just got to write the right stuff and come up with something really extraordinary. And I think if we had that spark, we’d then have the impetus to finish an album, yeah. I think it would be a very nice thing to do.” Another nice thing to do for Queen + Paul Rodgers is to come to the States, which, of course, they’ll be doing later this month – the 18th in New York and the 22nd in LA. . . . . . . . . . . . A new album with that singer??? mmmm.... I don't know, I don't like the idea... |

I support you.... I really don't like Paul Rodgers, but it was Brian's and Roger's choice... so we don't have nothing to do. The only thing i really like if they could come to Chile. |

I am coming to terms with the fact that there will probably be a new Q+PR studio album, which is good for the boys to exert their creative juices once again. But I do want at least one song each with Brian and Roger on lead vocals. That would keep me happy, then Paul can handle the rest. One further question: do you think any other musicians will be employed? For instance, will Roger and Brian handle bass duties on a studio album like they do from time to time on their solo albums? |

whaa whaa whaa Shut up you pussies. |
kdj2hot 30.09.2005 00:05 |
Um, what did you expect them to do? The concept of atleast entertaining an idea to make a record have to cross their mind. All have shown to be great songwriters and are creativce so that seems like a natural step. I don't see how it could shock anyone that they're considering it. |

I love the idea. The way I picture it is a sort of mixture of stuff.. some new songs from the 3 guys and a home for studio versions of recent items like the 466664 tracks, and other new solo Roger & Brian stuff if they wish. Not a situation where Paul is taking the lead on all tracks. The live CD is the catalyst for allowing such a thing to happen.. with its variety of songs and having Paul's name attached.. If before any tour it came out of the blue with Paul, it might seem odd. But I think it would make perfect sense being the next "Queen" album at this point. |

Am I the only one who detects the ambiguity in that statement ? t reads to me that its being considered as a RT + BM project, and doesn't commit PR to any involvement ('dispite WHO makes that record'). A Queen album with guest vocalists perhaps? |
EraserHead 30.09.2005 04:57 |
I want one. New Brian and Rodger material is always good even if its with Rodgers on vocals. Think of it as a new band, not Queen with Freddie being replaced. |
GreatKingSam 30.09.2005 05:12 |
Gang it's good news for fuck sake? Let's be positive! If the boys make a record, maybe that'll mean further touring next year or whenever it may be released. |
Fenderek 30.09.2005 05:41 |
It's just going to piss some people even more... And that's good, maybe this time they will choke with this "Queen RIP" crap... My opinion? Bring it on! Paul s the best thing that could happen for them since Freddie died, the last thing I want is some talentless twat like Robbie singing on a Queen record... They're legends, they have a vocal legend singing with them, make an album- if t's gonna be bad- will be the first one to criticise, if it's gonna be good... I dunno about you guys but have enough of this crap being released nowadays- good records from good musicians is something that this business really needs! And same goes for audience, otherwise in ten years people will listen to some fucking ringtones.. Oh n, wait, that's already happening... holy shit!!!! |

Yes, finally an album I can look forward to buying again! I hope they can persuade John to play some licks here and there :) |

I dont remember seeing Freddie's two albums flying off the shelves when they first came out - so does that make him a "money grabbing looser" as well? |

There has been talk of a tour in 2007, so I guess they're gonna carry on with it.I dont have a problem with Paul, hes a great stadium singer and I agree with some of you that maybe he isnt the best person to be carrying on with, but they're bring in the market from both Queen(who can tollerate Paul) and Bad Company/Free fans. They're also getting a new generation of fans with parents bringing they're kids. As for Brian being a money grabber.....Hes just very good at getting it and you're obviously not. All three of Queen are doing very well financially, its just that Roger and John arent quite so blatant about it. |

Brian is not a money grabber your just jealous that he can play and you cant plus before u open your gob about money grabbing this cinema busniess showing their DVD is going to charties those who paid to see it me as well is not going in their pocket it gone to needy so there u go good old queen and pr keep rocking :) |

Do you guys think John would be up to doing some studio work with Brian and Roger???? I think it's more of a possibility than him touring. My guess is no bc usually a new album means promotions and touring. But what if John did say he'd do a studio album??? I think I might soil myself. |
Hank H. 30.09.2005 14:19 |
I can imagine Brian, Roger and Paul being a studio band. But what about the bassist? Would Danny be "allowed" to take part in the songwriting processes? Can't imagine that. Therefore John would be... more than nice. But no, I don't see that happen either. |

I'm glad most of this 2nd page have been positive comments. IMO Queen + PR making a studio album is a brilliant decision - even better if they tour again!! Keeping good music alive and making more great music is the best thing they can do, and we should support them. |

I think it's absurd to hear people talking about what Freddie "would have wanted". None of you knew Freddie personally. I knew my grandmother personally and I still have a hard time knowing what she "would have wanted" about things. That said, I think Roger and Brian continuing to write can only be a positive thing. Just because Freddie died doesn't mean they did - nobody has a right to tell them to stop writing, regardless of who they choose to include. I'm sure you'd enjoy people judging your choices based on what your friend who died 14 years ago used to do. |
