I am learning some computer techy lingo. And a site I am on, for one of my blogs, to change the font, color, etc. asks for me to copy and paste my HTML. 1) What is HTML? 2) Where do I find these HTML codes? 3) How do I know what codes equal what colors, fonts, spacings, etc. Thanks! |

To publish information for global distribution, one needs a universally understood language, a kind of publishing mother tongue that all computers may potentially understand. The publishing language used by the World Wide Web is HTML (from HyperText Markup Language). HTML gives authors the means to: Publish online documents with headings, text, tables, lists, photos, etc. Retrieve online information via hypertext links, at the click of a button. Design forms for conducting transactions with remote services, for use in searching for information, making reservations, ordering products, etc. Include spread-sheets, video clips, sound clips, and other applications directly in their documents. in simple language, it's the computer language... every site has that.... if you working with windows bassed program you'll find the html structure into view than source (it will give you some strange pat with formules...I'LL try to post you some html codes basics within a minute or 2 |

Another site is link there you can actually practice your html writing, and he makes things easy to understand, it is written for those who don't know what it is, and there are other lessons there as well. although Beenys link is really good as well, but it really don't teach you anything, but if you don't want to actually learn to write html, but to copy and paste stuff, this site is better than the one I posted. |

I have started reading this stuff, and with respect, you need to be a rocket scientist to understand it. It's like learning math and physics and very hard for me to understand. Main thing...is ...it STILL does NOT tell me WHERE the HTML codes are located on my 3 blogs. Can you guys help me with this? Thanks xxxx :) |

Well, on myspace you can change the color of your font just by clicking the color button, as far as the other blogs you have I have no idea |

Maybe you could try using a program like Dreamweaver or Frontpage. These allow you to edit the page visually. As far as putting the HTML into your blog you can copy the code from HTML view in these programs and then paste into the blog. Hope this makes sense. |

My blogspot blog has a specific place for ciopying and pasting HTML codes. My queenzone blog has NONE that I can find. My myspace blog you can change color and font, but not copy and paste any specifics or links or stuff like that. |

Ok Arlene, I found it, on the lower left of the text box there is a option to view source, that is where you can input HTML... it took me a little bit, as each time I hit the space bar it sent me out, but after playing with it for a bit, I went into the main part, and put <b>hello</b> and when I saw it in the view source it showed it as <P><b>hello</b></P> so I just backed it off to the beginning and reentered the <b> and left the hello alone, and put the </b> and it worked. check the blog out now, it should contain HTML that isn't available.. all you have to do is check the "view source" and that is where you type in the HTML |
Megamike The GREAT 29.09.2005 17:49 |
yeah and Queenzones blogs take html as well.. link I THOUGHT about creating a blog for my site, but seeing as no one is really using my Notice board, I guess it wouldn't be prudent to have it yet.. maybe in a couple months.. |

If you just want to use it for something simple like your myspace use: link It makes things 1000000000000000000000000000000 times easier. Then all you gotta do is copy and paste the code into your profile. |

So...if I understand right, if i want to do any of the things it lists, I just copy the code. Now...here's the part I don't understand... WHERE do you paste it? In the particular text, in the settings....???? |

If I am correct you can't post HTML in your actual posts here, but you can in the subject line and in the topic line, as well as your profile.. |

The problem, he explained, was in the pasting...that the reply box is not accepting it or something and he told me to ask you what I am doing wrong.....it won't work. And this is just the VERY FIRST thing I tried to do. |

What and where is that? |

I think - though I'm not entirely sure so dont take this as gospel - they mean the source code. Maybe someone with more knowledge than me can help you out. Sorry :( |

Most of those things on that site are for actual web pages, not blogs or stuff like that, but some may work.. I haven't tried. |

Whoops, maybe I've gone crazy or they changed it around a bit...but apparently it's called "about me" now. Anyhow, go under edit my profile, then click about me, then click edit, and then just paste the HTML code under whatever else you wrote. |

I STILL do not understand how to do the numeric code correctly and most sites will NOT accept me inserting the word of the color. Queenzone does. Myspace....does NOT and rejected the word for the color and I do NOT understand how to use the numeric code formula. HELP!!!!!!!! SOS!!!!!!! |
doremi 02.10.2005 13:41 |
..The numeric codes I have...my PROBLEM is I do NOT understand how or rather where to place it and my text in the formula, so that it appears. Example. #7FFFD4 is the color code for aquamarine. Please someone type the complete formula, and say the word ''cat'' (which would be the text)..within the formula...so that I can understand what I am doing WRONG! Thanks! |
