Do You Think Freddies Mr Bad Guy Album should be reworked The Music is utter crap on all the songs. living on my own was a lot better when re recorded.Do you think someone should re record the music not queen though
I like it.
It shouldnt be re-re recorded. The mixes were/are crap (both albums)(TFMA & Made in Heaven).
Keep the original........It reminds me of happier times
By far the re-do made on The Freddie Mercury Album in 1992 sounded way better than the the Mr. Bad Guy album, especially songs like "Mr. Bad Guy" or "Living on my own - Nomore Brothers Version"...
The album should not be re-recorded IMO, simply because Queen Productions is already having enough trouble re-working existing Queen albums (for example, the box set in '09, and the DVD-A for ANATO), so it wouldn't be done soon enough, probably within a few years.
Anyway, the album is great. Although the original album is out of print, and all we have is either TFMA or Made In Heaven.
But there's more. It seems that no one remembers The Great Pretender, which was the re-release of Mr. Bad Guy in 1992. The tracks were moved around, and many were edited...poorly.
But that doesn't mean we should go so far as to re-recording the album. Too much work, and too little time...
This album is part of the history of our beloved Freddie Mercury, and it should not be touched.. Ok, the digital remaster in 2000 which was part of the FM collection was more than great.. No more No Less..
HEAVEN'S NO! NEVER!
I have one copy of it on vinyl that was given as a gift and I still occasionally will play the LP...Ahh the good old days of vinyl LPs...but I digress.
Freddie recorded that album in Munich I think... with an all German band. I Love "Let's Get It On" because it reminds me of that period of European gay club hopping that I did a heck of a lot of those days...and then bed-hopping afterwards!
LOL!
Cheers,
David
You mean 'Let's Turn It On.'
Mr Bad Guy is very much a Freddie album. That was the music he was into and it totally worked for him and it was the thing at the time. The album is not crap, you just dislike 80's dance music.
I love that album, and please don't tell me that the remixes of those songs were better that the originals. I love all the songs and with Queen i only have one or two albums were i like All the stuff.
Take care
I detest the remix of Living On My Own, but am quite fond of FREDDIE'S original synthy 80's version and his original vocals that weren't reworked and edited/sped up/looped YUCK!
Also as some already pointed out, it is Freddie's artistic and creative vision and he recorded it as HE wanted, and again as he also said (without interference from Brian, Roger, John).
If you don't like it, that's your perogative and right, but don't go tampering and changing Freddie's original work, music as he intended, wanted, and obviously HE loved.
I'm not thrilled with some of it either and BTW, I LOVE 80's dance music, STILL do..I just think parts of the album are not any Flashdance for me, could have used stronger songwriting more than anything else that's all.
I like Freddie's solo stuff behind Brian's, but Mr. Bad Guy is a great album.
If Paul gets anywhere NEAR that, break out the tasers and mirrored sunglasses.
Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow can't be more improved. I Was Born To Love You was meant to be just the way it is, not re-worked as appears on the Made In Heaven album.
I Was Born To Love You is a club favorite, and that is the direction Freddie took musically, and thats what he wanted.
