ps They also have another (non-official)Queen DVD titled "Queen Under Review - 1974-1980" due for release on same day. Anyone know anything about this one??
yep... was just going to post this info.
seems an excellent price (providing it is indeed a 2 disc set - which surely it has to be!)
DVD popcorn are reliable (albeit not as fast as other online retailers)
Don't really think this price is going to be beaten.
It LOOKS interesting at first sight indeed. But, apart from it being an obvious unofficial product, I doubt if the sleeve-notes are correct:
1. Keep Yourself Alive - Recorded Live In London during the early 1970s
--->It's be the Brewer Street film, I guess
2. Seven Seas Of Rhye - Recorded In Hungary during the 1980s
---->Sure they took it from Budapest?? That 1986!
3. Killer Queen - From a very rare Top Of The Pops appearance
----->This 'very rare' one, I think will be the 'well known one'.
4. Stone Cold Crazy - From the classic 1975 Rainbow Christmas Concert
---->Sure!
5. Somebody To Love - From a rare promo film
---->They mean the video we all know?
6. Bohemian Rhapsody - Recorded live in Dublin prior to the single release
---->A live-VIDEO from Dublin pre-1976??? WoW! That's so rare not even the biggest Queen-video-experts have ever heard of it's existance. I doubt this to ever be possibly correct.
7. Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy - Another very rare TOTP performance
----->Heh, not so rare anymore since GVH2 - cause I doubt it will be the other never-aired recording
8. We Will Rock You - Another performance in Hungary
--->Budapest again? 1986 fella's!
9. We Are The Champions - Live In London
--->Hammersmith 1979??
10. Bicycle Race - Live at the Tokyo Hippodrome in 1979
11. Don¿t Stop Me Now - Another recording from Tokyo
12. Crazy Little Thing Called Love - An early 1980s performance from Paris
----->Early 1980's concertfilm from Paris? (Digs for his encyclopedia)... or is 1986 considered 'early eighties'?? OR was the entire Hot Space tour REALY filmed, afterall? And did this company get hold of some never heard off before films??
13. Another One Bites The Dust - An ultimate live performance from Austin, Texas
----->A film from a show in Austin featuring AOBTD (=after 1980)?? They did not even do a show in Austin!!
Intersting indeed.
But apart from the fact that some of the sleevenotes are in ANY way wrong, and mainly also because of that, I doubt if the other recordings realy are what they say they should be.
Hi Scirocco1977 - I see what you mean about the two discs not being mentioned. When I originally looked this up last week it had '(2 disc edition)', or something similar after the title but this has now been removed. I suppose we'll have to wait and see now!
Cheers
