Hi guys Heard this afternoon on my local Irish (Dublin) radio station-Spin 1038- that Bri has found some unheard tapes of Freddie messing about in the studio and plans to work on them for new songs. Anybody hear (or believe) this? It was only a 10sec newsclip at the end of the news bulletin. |

I wish he'd better find 'Hangman'... |

He's probably going to sample the few seconds he's found, and use it as a filler on one of his future projects. ...Or it's going to be yet another unfulfilled promise. |

"statside" that's your opinion, i happen to like "heaven" if brian found any freddie stuff that's good, i hope they finish and release them. |
mike hunt 19.09.2005 19:11 |
i just found this article on brians site, so i guess it's true. |

Although having just read the story on Brian's site, it sounds to me like its just a reference to outtakes for the box set(s)/re-issues-with-bonus-tracks/whatever-the-hell-it-turns-out-to-be stuff we've all been grousing about for 5 or 6 years now. I assume Brian will "clarify" the story and tell us the evil press contorted his quote. Or the ungrateful fans have jumped to conclusions. |

It's on Brian's website, if anyone cares to read it. |
KingMercury 19.09.2005 20:04 |
it's true it's on bri website it's a great news in fact, probably there will be a lot of stuff with freddie's voice, not only that "unheard" stuff |
flash00. 19.09.2005 20:54 |
anyone know what year the vocals are from? i dont care if it is just a vocal sample remixed any new queen/freddie product is cool, wouldn't it be hilarious if it was the new york remix lol |

Got it Mike.Wonder if they mix it with new PR stuff.Im not anti-found stuff, but i hate when its mixed into something that it was not intended to be like living on my own |

seems like Freddie keeps to amuse us even if he's not here =) |

It's just a rumor but I've heard that Freddie expresses his true feelings toward VIVIVAL on these tapes. If these rumors are true, we will most likely never hear them due to continuous bleeps such as the one on Live Killers album right before Death on Two Legs. |

"can a record suck more then Made in Heaven?Let the man rest in peace please." The only thing that sucks more than Made in Heave is your mum. Seriously, Made in Heaven was a work of art, and you're a rat. |
EraserHead 20.09.2005 02:06 |
Made in Heaven was brilliant and a Made in Heaven II would kick ass. |

stateside fan wrote: can a record suck more then Made in Heaven?Let the man rest in peace please.that's unfair.. MIH was good at what it did - they did the best job they could of 'tidying up' the unfisnished, and reworking some freddie solo stuff it was good, but not great. the sentiments were fine...but without Freddie actualy there - pushing and pulling them 25% in his direction it seemed a bit leaderless depsite this - it's still way above Hot Space, Works and AKOM |
brENsKi 20.09.2005 03:31 |
there's also an small take of 'Freedom Train' that has a backwards message from Freddie in it that says:- 'Queen +PR are okay by me, the band should carry on - and Bryan's Permed Poodle is an ignoramus' |
Oberon 20.09.2005 04:18 |
Check out Brian's site - he has now 'clarified' this story which not surprisingly was a twisted version of his comments (according to Brian, of course) |

I heard one of Freddie's songs states" No Me, No Queen". More Freddie hey - return of THE champion- one more time................ |

If these songs are released and the CD is called Made in Heaven II, i'll puke |

Guys, it's just a souped up rumour. Brian himself dispells the myth on his soapbox. Yes, there are some tapes, but they aren't currently planning to release anything. Everyone can go back to sleep now. |

Roger told me about these tapes (not actually about these ones, but about tapes with unreleased Freddie's vocal on them) about 8 or 9 years ago... Old news is good business! |

i was just listening to the queen-talks interview with mike reid from 1989 and in it freddie and brian say theres loads of unused material from the past albums he said there was something like 3o tracks from the miracle album alone and it was good material which he said could be used/worked on in the future etc.. now i dont know if its recordings or just written material but i just thought it was interesting, also i agree i wonder if john deacon will work on the new tracks :), i dont think its enough for a full album i think it'll just be a few to add to a future studio album of queen+rogers just to make the album more marketable i.e. sell more lol |
brENsKi 21.09.2005 02:14 |
yes. i think the inference on that interview was there was loads of stuff they worked on. most of which were 'almost complete' but they couldn't fit them onto the Miracle. One thing that i wonder about is - how much of that 'Miracle' stuff was older tracks they worked on for those 88/89 sessions got discarded and then re-hashed for MIH? |
Penis - Vagina 21.09.2005 02:42 |
I hope it's not Brian's intention to only release stuff after it's been made into finished songs. That's fine for some stuff, but we've had it already... I think most fans would be more interested in hearing raw recordings, ideas and early takes with different elements. This wouldn't surprise me though. What a way to keep the fire burning.. release some tracks finished off with modern stuff added, and still keep promising that box sets will happen someday. Brian does have a habit of taking an idea or a question and making something happen so perhaps this little twist of his answer will nevertheless remind him that there are fans waiting... |
Fone Bone 21.09.2005 08:02 |
Well, isn't the show supposed to go on and on ? Brian and Roger are naturally too busy at the moment with QPR to work on this, but I DO think that a MIH-style new album would be a good thing. Because it has more selling power than an extensive box set (remember MIH is the best selling Queen album ever !), it is also more likely to get made. Now, is there enough material ? Well, we know things such as I Guess We're Falling Out, Dog With A Bone, Self Made Man, Robbery, that is some very intersting stuff from The Miracle and Innuendo sessions. Surely there must be more we don't know about. I personally don't mind Bri and Rog completing lead vocals when necessary (Mother Love, Let Me Live). Add to that the incredible technical advances in terms of recording and mixing, and I think it can be done quite nicely. And then if they (especially Brian, for that matter) had the idea to do it in a better taste than MIH in terms of arrangements (what a step back compared to Innuendo), now that would be wonderful. Have you heard how modern and tasteful the new McCartney sounds like ? Wouldn't you dig an new Queen album of this sort featuring Freddie Mercury ? So I hope it gets done, and the sooner the better : the three surviving members aren't getting any younger, God bless 'em, and in a while Queen WILL be a catalogue-only thing. So go for it guys, we're waiting ! |

?????? Remains to be seen if it ever sees the light of day! |
Fairy 23.09.2005 15:23 |
Any new note by Freddie would be a huge, wonderful gift. I just hope Brian and others aren't just going to take some bits and mix them with new stuff or new rhythms, just to make money out of it. Fairy |
Hitman 23.09.2005 17:30 |
made in heaven is a fine album, i love it! for me it's ok to rework unrealeased songs with freddie's voice. |
Going Back 24.09.2005 16:35 |
that would be great! hope they really do that album, but not with paul rodgers, it should be only ''freddie on vocal'' album. |
mike hunt 25.09.2005 02:35 |
i would like an album with 3 or 4 freddie songs, a few new songs with paul, brian and roger singing. also i would hope roger's "say it's not true" is on it, cos that's pretty cool tune. |
deleted user 25.09.2005 06:02 |
according to Brian he did not said such... It's the usual thing ... they (reporters, journalists) say .. "Is there any chance of some new stuff with Freddie coming out .... some tapes hidden away which you might ... ?" and I go ... "Well, there are still a few bits kicking around .... maybe one day ... " |
