must admit, it's a good question.........its been 23 years since they've been here - not sure they'll all know the words -some may not even know its a sing-a-long - don't get pissed at us Brian - we'll do our best!! |
Shane Jazz 17.09.2005 23:07 |
That's an excellent question. Even in Queen's touring heyday the North American crowds didn't really sing along to LOML. Just look at the WWRY DVD (Montreal 1981). Freddie sang the entire song, so he must have sensed it wasn't as popular across the pond. It never ceases to amaze me how the European crowds all sing in unison. Never released as a single (not counting the live version release), yet a concert favorite. |

Not on all European shows (from the recent tour) audience sung LOML, it seems like they forgot the words too... |

hey we'll try, but we do know the words to "We Will Rock You" ha ha. Goodness it's football season again... |

This American sang along to "Love Of My Life" in UK. |

what they need to do is give out lyrics to the people to jog thier memories |

I mean this truly with all of my heart.... WHO THE F*#K CARES??!?!?!?!?!!!!? I am so happy for the 2 or 3 live versions I have where the audience shuts the hell up and lets Queen perform it. I understand Queen loving the respect the audience gives by singing it, and I sang it at the concert I went to, but why in the hell would anyone care if the audience was silent and gave the song a respectful playing? Sorry, it's morning, I'm hung over, cranky and was just whining about listening to it live on 'ROTC'. I was wanting the audience to shut up! |

I might bet a bottle of Moet that if they played "Mrs Robinson" (Simon & Garfunkel) everybody would sing along ;) |

If I were able to go to one of the shows, I'd gladly sing along. But I'm not, So I won't. |

I sing along every time I listen to that song...which is every day....is it for real about cocaine? Omg....that's kind of weird...but I still love that song....Freddie changed the words when he sang it at the Wembley....I must admit I don't think you'd catch me singing along though unless it was Freddie singing...not Paul Rogers or anything...maybe with Brian or Roger, but they wouldn't do it as good... |
zaiga 19.09.2005 08:15 |
Of course it's not about cocaine. Some people just like to start stupid rumours. And don't worry, Paul Rodgers won't sing it, Brian will. |
deleted user 19.09.2005 08:22 |
Okay thank god, because I would be extremely sad if Paul Rogers tried to sing it, because it's an emotional song for me, it sounds like Freddie poured his heart into it, that's my opinion but I'd like to think that, and it's very heartfelt, I'd just be devastated to hear Paul Rogers try |
Mr_Bad_Guy_91 19.09.2005 09:06 |
Paul wont sing it he respect that Brian will sing it with a empty stool next to him and for those people that said they aint gonna sing along NOONE ASKED YOU huh lmao To those who going to see the show u all will enjoy it i did i love every bit of it Not saying no more it only spoil it go and see the show :) |

The USA better sing to it, unless I have a headache, I'll be pissed then. I want to try and sneak up to the front of the stage and I'm going to try and create a large poster that has a weird conversation with Brian, I'm funny like that. |

The song was released in 1975, at which time AIDS was not known in the western world if it existed at all. Freddie contracted AIDS in 1984 (sigh). I think it's about someone he loved..in his life, but that might be too obvious for our analysts who think every song is the key to some great mystery. As for the US, I think enough people will sing to make themselves heard. And just ignore vivival, she's absolutely nuts. |
