Hi everyone! How are 'ya? I got this first Jazz concert on dimeadozen just like many of you did.. And that got me wondering... Do you think that there's any other concert that should surface after a long time (just like this one) or do you think we know it all? I mean that for the videos too (recorded by fans, not the tapes that queen productions own)...
I mean: Do you think that there's anything we don't know about hidden somewhere? (let's say, one of the Sun City concerts, on a soundboard or audience bootleg found by someone on his/hers basement for example)..
Sorry if I didn't make myself clear, but i think you'll understand =)
I'm sure there are still few that already known to exist but do not circulate (was it Kalamazoo for instance?) or the ones that we don't even know exist- but they do... And one day, sooner or later I think they will see the light of the day... Most of them anyway... But I wouldn't expect too many...
Sun City recording are known to exist, aren't they? Not sure myself... And is it all of them?

but this one hasn't ONLY NOW surfaced...its been available for years...this is an IMPROVED QUALITY version - if you read the 'uploader's' comments he says -it's mainly from his second copy of tapes that he made...as the first were poor
i have a copy of the first (have had for a couple of years)set - and it is poor
There will always be new surfaced recordings, I mean almost every year one or more recordings will show up, and then it could be a totally new show or an alternate source of a show which is already on the bootleg trading world. Let's hope there will be more shows showing up in the future! :)
There is lots of stuff out there that you don't even know excists.
Also, there is for sure stuff out there that I don't even know excists...
(And I mean not only live-concerts)

hold on. if you have a crappy recording of a 1974 gig, and it's full of hiss and crackle - how can new technology improve it?
surely if you remove any hiss/cracks/pops then you also remove bits of music with it?

You might have a point here. But then again, how can we possibily be sure of what the future hold for us? Three examples (with different stati):
- Audio data recovering using precission optical reading of physically grabbed media otherwise unplayable is new and promising.
- Technology to restore the apparently lost information in damaged magnetic media by precisely applying statistical analyses to its response to induced micromagnetic fields is yet to be invented, but it is possible.
- Artificial intelligence, when developed, might be of some use to devise new denoising algorythms.
I'd say that every year, there are always:
- 1-2 previously unavailable recordings
- 5-10 recordings with upgraded sound quality (lower generation or remaster)

agreed. This year proves a point - very well. Houston, Golders Green, Kanazawa and Liverpool are ALL now available in complete and CD audio format. 12 months ago NONE of these were 'shared' items....be patient people - THERE WILL be more
There is a difference between rare and unavailable.
A recording like Dallas (the full one) was previously not available to anybody. Now it is.
Houston has been around since the early 90's as far as I can remember. It used to be rare though, until recently.
