There's a lot of beautiful breeds of cats, too many to list, but Maine Coon cats are my favs along with just plain ol' Tom cat tabbies. |

Collies are my favorite breed of dog. I have a Rough Collie, blue merle...and a Border Collie, both are great dogs. Cats? I can't pick, I love them all. |

The German Shepherd dog is the perfect dog all 'round..:-) I've always wanted an abyssinian cat...love that Egyptian look. |

Erin wrote: The German Shepherd dog is the perfect dog all 'round..:-)In terms of loyalty, obedience, and protection possibly yes. Others might say that the labrador or the Golden Retriever might be the perfect dogs, especially for those who own kids and have strangers coming over to visit. Golden retrievers are very sweet and gentle with pretty much everyone, but if a thief breaks into your house, chances are that your Golden is not going to do any harm to the thug and instead ask to play catch or be petted. |

Pma's dog is beautiful!! I grew up with Dachshunds. I love them, nasty little shits but I love them. After that I had a Rottweiler, then a Boxer. The Boxer was a very hyper dog. I couldn't stand it. I'm in to piggies now. |

Her and her husband were out doing yardwork one day and the dog was out with them. He saw the neighbors out in their yard across the street and took his tennis ball over to them to play. Then he tried to follow them into their house! |

I love Chow Chows, labradors (I am biased, though, because I have both!) and English bulldogs. But I'm pretty much a sucker for any cat or dog. :) |
dragonzflame 15.09.2005 04:49 |
I really can't go past moggies and mutts. My cats have always been garden-variety moggies and my current dog is an SPCA special. We think she's Jack Russell/Foxy/maybe corgi but nobody has any idea. Anyway, we love her to bits. My old dog was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel so if I'm forced to go for distinct breeds then I choose them. |

We had a chow when I was small; she was stubborn and had selective hearing, and I'll never forget the day she came homne in the back of the vet's car having been stuck in a muddy dyke for three days .... I like most dogs although I'm not into yappy snappy dogs like Jack Russells and other terrier-types (there's a really cute one comes out to see me when I park my car at work in the morning tho). I think a lot of cross-breeds are really cute and have more character. |

My girlfriend and I love Chow Chows, and we are planning of owning one when we move out. However we're very aware that they're hard to train due to their free willing nature, and very particular stubborness. Not to mention also that they need to be brushed almost daily, and that takes a lot of time away from you. |

(She even once tried to run off with the UPS man...) I don't know why Chows get such a bad rap. A while ago we were walking my girlfriends dogs to the park and we came across this lady who had a black Chow. We then asked her if the Chow didn't mind being petted by starngers, and she told us to go ahead because he liked being petted by anyone. We talked to her about how Chows have a bad reputation of being aggressive with other animals as well as strangers, but she said that as long as you raise your Chow in a good way where he can socialize with people and other dogs then they can grow to be really sweet and gentle dogs. |
