We know Freddie used to sell his paintings while working in Kensington market, but has anyone heard of any of these paintings surviving to present? What did they look like? Were they signed Mercury or Bulsara? It'd be a blast if one turned up on Antiques Roadshow.
There were some in "Untold Story" I think. I'd also be interested in seeing more of them. Do they turn up on ebay from time to time? But probably most of the buyers had no clue that Bulsara later turned into Mercury.

I agree. Bet those original early ''Bulsara'' works changed hands many times and one of these days will wind up at some flea market or something like ''Antiques Roadshow'' and the owner will find out they have a wonderful treasure.

The first is Hendrix.
#2 Is Elizabeth Taylor
#3 Is Elizabeth Taylor from the film ''Cleopatra'' where she is wearing the gold headpiece and costume from the scene wear she enters Rome.
#4 is Rock Hudson
and I must say...they are all excellent.
Think about if Freddie had lived. He could have become a respected artist/painter and sold his work and showed it at art galleries the same way that all of these active musicians who also paint do:
The Rolling Stones' Ron Wood, Tony Bennett, The Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia (who exhibited and sold his paintings when he was alive), and many other rock stars who also paint and draw.
Wow! Thanks BEE-ny! I actually found some good scans of 2 of these at link as well as 3 others. Check 'em out! He was certainly very talented, and could have been a very successful artist for sure, Arlene.

Thanks for these!
Great!!!!!! portrait of Sir Paul McCartney. Also Cliff Richard.
Wonder if Macca, Liz, Cliff, these people who Freddie so admired, SAW these wonderful portraits.
Geez, Freddie was Brilliant at...singing, composing BOTH music and lyrics, playing piano, arranging, drawing/painting...he could play a little guitar, dance like a whirling dirvish,
DAMN that man was talented!!!!!!!!!!
My favorites...are his drawings of Liz from ''Cleopatra'' and Sir Paul McCartney. I would love to own and hang those in my own home...if I was wealthy and could afford to that is. :-)
Ooh! Found another webpage at link with a better scan of the Jimi painting (for BEE-ny) and another sketch of Kashmira flaked out in a chair! The others are ones we've seen. Check 'em out!

Thanks!
That site has much better reproductions of Freddie's paintings.
I still like the ones of Paul McCartney and Liz Taylor (especially in her head piece costume from ''Cleopatra'') best.
Thanks again! :)
there was some other one of jim hendrix, but the television screen started fadding in lines.... it's a more abstract art in colour version of hendrix and something with flowers but jet again I wasn't able to take the pictures....
have you ever seen the view of his house in montreux.... GOD, heaven must not be far... link

LOL! Well Liz did perm her hair back in the day...or maybe Freddie imagined her as having what we gals call a bad hair day! :)
I think she looks like she has put her fingers into the plug.........
