Yeah well thats because it ain't Ch!ps or 50 Cent, so they won't sell thousends of 'm.
The knowledge of attendants of recordstores in the Netherlands is really rediculous. 18 year olds who think Led Zeppelin is some kind of balloon and REO Speedwagon is a Playstation 2 Race game....
Really tragic, The record stores as well as the charts are dominated by big companies these days, rare stuff and rare bands are out of the question, if you're lucky you might find some Queen albums...
This is particularly true in the Netherlands, because it's a small country, it's fairly easy for big companies to influence everything. Thats why shitty bands like Kane and Chips enter the charts as number 1...
I agree with you Ayreon (well, not with calling Kane a shitty band ;) ). But with a bit more marketing, the single would have sold much better. Take the Rolling Stones for example, they are ranked at #4 in the Top50.
But I agree.. MTV,TMF and Radio 538 rule the music world in The Netherlands.. And there's no room for real music. The only thing we see are negroid people with gold necklets and big cars, surrounded by almost naked women.
Dutch recordshops will have the album on sale next monday. (So that means when you go to a GOOD recordshop = NOT Free Records Shop, Van Leest or any warehouse - one should never EVER go there by the way - you can own it this friday.
The vinyl version will be released simultaniously with the DVD next month and will be available to order in Holland in GOOD recordshops.
Btw: is it the part of the country?? ->I've bought the single (at Free Records Shop, LOL! ;-) on the day it officially was released, and have been seeing large amounts of them everywhere! :-S
second and last by the way: seeing Queen + Paul Rodgers enter the Dutch official Top 40 hitlist, REALY put a smile on my face!!
First I could not find the single and let my favourite CD-store order it. So not every shop has a huge stock of the single. But maybe that's gonna change now the single has entered the charts.
Today, Friday, ROTC was delivered in Dutch recordshops.
But guess my disappointment: THE LIMITED EDITION IS NOT AVAILABLE IN HOLLAND (and God knows where else)!!!
The only thing available is the regular, flat jewelcase.
Did I buy it anyway?
Course I didn't!
(I must be getting old! First time in history I resist buying a new Queen release while I was holding it in my hands. But not this time. QP can lick my scrotum! ;-))) I'm off to the import shop, Ebay, or just wait for a couple of weeks.)
