Looking through this week's Best Buy sales paper, the upcoming Queen+ Paul Rodgers live CD, "Return of the Champions", will include an exclusive bonus 2 track DVD! It does not say what the two tracks will be (I'm guessing it'll be a preview of the upcoming "Return of the Champions" DVD.) I had not heard of any bonus stuff to be packaged with the CD until today so this is a nice surprise.
"Return of the Champions" 2 CD set will hit stores September 13. I'm not sure if any country outside the USA will have this bonus DVD.
I don't know why anyone is buying this 2cd if the DVD will have exactly this material, and more. Same thing with Wembley and Milton Keynes. From a legal perspective, it's even okay to rip the DVD to audio cd for your own use.
Those were my thoughts exactly until recently, GH. I've abandoned my principles and decided to allow myself to enjoy live stuff this month.. and in the absence of anything better to buy, I ended up getting Wembley & MK on CD also.
There is the bonus Budapest track on the U.S. 'Wembley' though, and with 'On Fire' on CD you get a specially edited version which removes some of Freddie talking & the silent bit of the solo.. so they aren't the identical material ;)
I was really pissed that they're putting the DVD off another month and putting the CD out first, because I was only planning on getting the DVD. But then with this new live obsession of mine, and now a little added bonus.. I can't resist.
PS - I feel your pain, Zeni & Dan.. but I also find it oddly amusing that this happened again a year later :P
Be sure and hop on AIM Tuesday if possible Dan and I'll do what I can to eliminate the exclusiveness...
I went to Virgin Store this morning and asked them if it coming out in uk they said yes cant see why not and said the date of the sale should be on the 19th sept
I look forward to that
:)

Exactly my thoughts. If you're only in it for the music, it's a waste of money. Of course, there are people buying everything that's released. Some people do buy two or even more copies from one album, just because these are on a different lable or whatever. If you're a completist, that's all fine. The same goes for Greatest Hits albums. I did buy them, but that was in the days I bought everything that had Queen written down on it. Nowadays I'm only in it for the music. So, I will only buy the DVD. I also didn't buy the On Fire CD (although it's been tempting for 7 euro's). Same goes for Wembley.
I hate the fact that this CD is released before the DVD comes out. QP do it on purpose, to get people buy both the CD and DVD.
Did you guys know that somehow there is a download from the new album available already... of course that's illegal... but how did it get on the internet???
I only know this because my uncle showed up with the cd because he saw the download and thought about me.... but I'm against illegal Queen stuff... just because of the royalty's for the phoenix trust... but I wasn't planning to buy the cd... just rip it from the dvd which I was going to buy..... so now I've got it already.... but I don't know anything about bonus tracks....
just wanted to let you know....
I just don't get it.... how did it get on the internet before it is even in stores??
Everything get leaked and worm their way to the net
no matter what happen it always ended up on the net
I dont agree with that but Billions of people are downloading anything and uploading too
I am happy to wait for my proper copy as money goes to them and they work for it
if people want to download then that up to them
