Thanks John! How about 'Yeah' track? There is short version of Champions Of The World movie - In The Laps Of The Gods. And how about these new DJ Koma's remixes of Beautiful Day and HFE? |
John S Stuart 09.09.2005 13:31 |
And how about these new DJ Koma's remixes of Beautiful Day and HFE? Thanks Serry - This has been added already: It's A Beautiful Day (Reprise) 1995 Album Version - Made In Heaven: Parlophone CDPCSD 167 2005 Ross Robertson DJ Koma Techno Mix - Unreleased: Home Mini Disc I don't know about his version of "Heaven For Everyone" though. Has this been officially released, as it was decided way back in the beginning not to use fan remixes. How about 'Yeah' track? - should I include this as a seperate track? There is short version of Champions Of The World movie - In The Laps Of The Gods. Correct, but it adds nothing new. I decided that if you own one - you owned the other. Mind you, if we can add edited singles to the list - why not edited videos? I will add it above. Thanks. |
Serry... 09.09.2005 13:35 |
John, if you don't have and would be interested in DJ Koma's mix of HFE - I'm always glad to help! :) Not for John: there's fake demo of Mother Love - it's a fan mix. |
John S Stuart 09.09.2005 13:40 |
Serry: John, if you don't have and would be interested in DJ Koma's mix of HFE - I'm always glad to help! :) Thank you, I would like to hear that - but is it an official - or a fan mix? Not for John: there's fake demo of Mother Love - it's a fan mix. Correct, that is why I have not included it. But, you are correct to point this out, as some newbies may be fooled, and I have not said so above. |
Serry... 09.09.2005 13:57 |
About 'Yeah': I don't know, but since QP wants us to think it's a separate track, can we refuse? :) About this HFE version: it's a mix between The Cross and Queen's versions with very few sound effects and some additional stuff (not by Queen). It could be released officially, but I don't know. It was free for upload as well as It's A Beatiful Day remix, but... I'll check it! Check you mailbox, John! |
John S Stuart 09.09.2005 14:06 |
Thanks Serry. I think this is a fan mix - and that is why I have not listed it. I know that his 2005 Ross Robertson DJ Koma Techno Mix - is a fan mix also, but as you say, it has been given the Official seal of approval by being played at the beginning of the recent Queen + Paul Rodgers tours - therefore, I thought I would make this fan mix an exception. Didn't our own Pieter make a "HFE" fan mix also? |
PieterMC 09.09.2005 14:13 |
I made many mixes, seems like a very long time ago. I remember making the following mixes: Nation of Haircuts (Let's Get Crazy Mix) Great Pretender Who Wants to Live Forever I know there were others but I really cannot remember what they were. I no longer have copies of any of them. |
Daz85 09.09.2005 14:27 |
John, you mentioned on QO.com not so long ago about the MIH sessions "leaking". Can you say what tracks or work has leaked please? |
[StArMaN] 09.09.2005 14:32 |
If you want to mention it, the "Yeah track" comes from "Action This Day", in the second chorus : link |
Daz85 09.09.2005 14:56 |
I thought the "Yeah" came from "Don't Try Suicide"? |
John S Stuart 09.09.2005 15:19 |
Darren Robins: "Can you say what tracks or work has leaked please?" I am no GB Darren, so I can not give you a comprehensive list, but of what I know... Mother Love 1991 Brian May Vocal Demos 1991 Roger Taylor Vocal Demos Too Much Love Will Kill You 1988 Freddie Vocal Guide/Brian Vocal Demo I know that there are others - but without evidence, I do not think it would be a service to list these. As for "Yeah", I have no idea at this time where it comes from - as I have not given it too much thought - but I did think it came from "A Kind Of Magic" - any definate ideas? the_hero: Were the promo videos the ones that got later on released on the Made in the heaven DVD "The Films" or whatever it is called? Yes - That is correct. |

"Yeah" - I think it's from Don't Try Suicide. The 'yeah' in Action this Day is very similar though, tough to pick really... but I think the Action This Day 'yeah' is slower. |
Serry... 10.09.2005 03:30 |
Sorry, guys, but why "Yeah" can't be from It's A Beatiful Day sessions? |
EddieVanHalen 10.09.2005 05:12 |
@John There is also a version of Let me live that's called the Another piece of my heart version. Is this yet another version as the ones listed above? It has more choir singing in the choruses. And about the Yeah thin, I'm almost certain that it comes from action this day. |

I guess you mean this one... |

Thanks for this, John - again:) "There is short version of Champions Of The World movie - In The Laps Of The Gods. Correct, but it adds nothing new. I decided that if you own one - you owned the other. Mind you, if we can add edited singles to the list - why not edited videos? I will add it above." Actually, that is not quite correct. There were several TV versions of the documentary and one of them has footage which is not on "Champions". On German TV it was aired in the "Music Planet" series. |

EddieVanHalen: "There is also a version of Let me live that's called the Another piece of my heart version. Is this yet another version as the ones listed above? It has more choir singing in the choruses." No - as has been said before, this is the withdrawn US cassette tape promo. I believe it was withdrawn as it too closely ressembled a Janice Joplin track (I can not recall exactly which one) - so for legal reasons, it was removed. YV: Again many thanks. I have a number of versions of this video, but my own favourite is the UK 12" Laser Disc version - as it offers the convenience and quality of a DVD - without the drawbacks of video tape. But I must make a confession - I recorded a "version" which aired on MTV some years back, but that just seemed to be edited from the longer video version. So even though I have a few versions (In The Lap Of The Gods, The Queen Phenomenon etc), I have not watched them all - all the way through, as I took it for granted that they all had the same content. Shame on me!!! Alex: Thanks for your contributions - as usual. (Send me an e-mail - as your address is not in your profile). |

1992 Holland Veronica Muziek Veilyny Video 21 September 1992 -Unreleased: Wanted Was this the broadcast where Brian auctioned his "Crazy Little Thing" guitar? I recall he did a live rendition of Too much love..., accompanied by Jan Vayne (Dutch pianist). Rumor went that he even asked Jan to join his solo band at the time but Jan declined (as he was more classical oriented, though a big fan of Queen). Anyway, I didn't realize this footage would be that rare. I should check my old VHS tapes once, since I am sure that I have it somewhere. |

Anything uniquely broadcast or distributed in a sole country (in this case Holland), IS indeed rare as far as the rest of the world is concerned. Just as South American broadcasts are rare in Holland, broadcasts from Holland are rare in South America! |

Therefore something broadcasted in New Zealand today is available in the rest of the world tomorrow. But indeed, this footage is a bit older of course. It's just that I never thought of it ever since I recorded it. It just came to mind reading your (again excellent) post. It might eventually lead to a posting of this video on this website! :) That is, if I still have it and am able to convert it to mpeg. I'll try to figure something out. |

Indeed. Great posts. I remember there was a thread that linked to all of Mr. Stuart's "Ultimate Collection" posts. This should be a permanent part of the site. Is this content already in Queenpedia or any permanent Webpage? Also, about Let Me Live -and this has been discussed many times in other threads- the Hollywood Records promo cassette version is also available in a few CD's made in Mexico but these are pretty much indistinguishable from the regular version. I have one of those. |
