When did Freddie start to walk on stage during WWRY draped in the British flag w/ the flag of the country they're playing in facing backwards? Was it the Works Tour?
I know it was done on the Magic tour as well. But did it go back to the Hot Space tour? Was it ever done in the US? I have never seen a photo w/ the Union Jack & Old Glory.

Yes, he did wear it in RIO but like you said don't know which tour he started.
I do remember Freddie or Brian saying in an interview that during the RIO tour where freddie dressed in drag, during IWTBF, the audience took BIG time offense, thinking he was making fun of their politics or something stupid...so he put on I THINK a 2 sided flag, one side was the Brazil flag, the other side the UK flag...and that changed the whole atmosphere of the audience and they cheered!!!!

Thats not true. Ive seen pics of of Freddie during the works tour that he is just carrying the Union Jack, which means that it must of have been during one of the English dates, but they only played English dates in 1984 none in '85.

The Rio concert flag was two sided, with the Union Jack on one side and the Brazilian flag on the other. It was also detachable so when it was undone it became one big long flag with the two flags together, obviously symbolising that Queen was in it together with the Brazilian people or something. Anyway, the crowd loved it, and it helped after the drag problem.

Be patient. I know Ive seen it before. I have to remember where I saw it. I know ive seen it because he was wearing the res spandex pants from the works tour and it was only the UK flag.
