welll wheni started GCSE 's in yr10, i found them easyish, but get much harder in yr11 cos of all the coursework. It can be difficult at times. But the GCSE years fly thru, before u know it u will be at the end of yr11! dont worry about it is my advice.
Year 10 is where it counts. Especially regarding course work. Year 11 is mainly about completing courswork and revision for exams.
Year 11 is essentially two terms. The Summer term is all about revision. You can't really revise what you haven't already learnt!
I wouldn't say its hard but you have to be organised and give the course work 100% Complete it on time - let your teachers check it and then complete a final draft.
my son Daniel has just finished year 11
he did, eng (lit & lang), maths, religion, science (double), business studies (double), food and ICT...and passed all ten...so it's probably down to individual ability
you will have to work hard...and make sure that you have chose the subjects you are best at (rather than those you fancy doing)
I found year 10 a doddle to be honest, year 11 was harder with coursework and what have you...
I took German, Food Technology, Business Studies and something else....er....
History.
That's it :P
Passed German and Food, failed the other two.
Finished up with 6 GCSE's all told (English, English Lit, Maths and French too.)
heres some tips i found useful:-
1-get yourself a wall chart
-and when your given a deadline for coursework highlight that date in a colour and mark it in, and an idea is to have a draft version done early to good qual, let the teacher check it, and then when you get it bcack you just need to copy it up in neat, and do any thing she/he has commented on
2-Use your free time wisely
-you will find you get more free time than you think, but dont waste it on going out or doing nothin, do a different topic coursework each day, including registration. focus on the ones that have to be in first, or the harder ones that you might need help on
3-Give yourself breaks
-Try not to over do the working bit, do about an hour, then take an hour or 30mins break, then do more, and at the end when you hand the work in treat yourself! lol
4-The sooner you get it out the way, the sooner you can relax and not worry about it. Like with my A-Level engineering coursework, i had it handed in 3 weeks before the deadline by using them tips. and i hadnt relaxed so much in my life! most relaxing 3 weeks of my life lol!
5-LAST TIP- RELAX and DONT WORRY/STRESS
-it will seem hard, and stresful at times, you might even have to sacrifice goingt to parties or going to see mates, but its worth it, when you pass with good grades and they either pass with poor grades or not pass at all!
You will do fine mate!
