I went to the Giants Stadium show and it totally KICKED ASS!! I got general admision tickets so we got there like 1 hour and half before the show started with the pre-opening bands. We were able to get as close as to 30-40 feet from the stage, so we saw Billie Joe, Tre Cool, and Mike pretty up close. I don't think I've ever been to a concert where the crowd was as full of energy as this one, and I even ended up going in the mosh pit during 'Holiday', and since it was mostly teenagers moshing, then you don't really get your ass kicked so hard. Oh and the 'We Are The Champions' cover was pretty cool. It was very nice being in the middle of a large crowd of people singing a Queen song. Anyways, I hope you have an awesome time just like I did!! |

Thanks Mr. J! We have clubhouse seats since we are kinda too old for moshing, LOL! But we are sure going to have a blast, we are going with five other couples all different age groups and are partying before and after the show. BTW hope to see Queen + at Giants Stadium in October with some of our same group. Luv, Kriz ;o* |

It's so cool that you guys are going in a group of people of different ages. I saw a lot of them yesterday, and I spotted this kid that was probably like 5 or 6 and he was dressed up as Billie Joe Armstrong with the black shirt, red tie, eye make up, and messy black hair. He looked really cute. I don't think I've ever been to a concert with so many parents taking their kids, but for the most part all of them were on the upper levels. I guess less parents now mind if their kids listen to music that have lots of cursing. Besides, those kids probably curse among their friends. I know because I was once one of them. |

Green Day are one of the best bands that I have ever seen live. They really try and engage the crowd, and have a lot of fun. |

How can Queen be touring if Freddie Mercury is dead?" ...and some other kid replied: - "Paul Rodgers is going to be singing with Queen", and the other kid replied: - "Is that dude good? I don't know if I'd want to see Queen without Freddie Mercury" |

OK Krizzy! Stop tooting that horn! HMMM...seems my g/f has a fan club? Am I right? When you coming here to the UK to see WWRY is what I want to know? Cheers, David |

Everytime I go I always see these little 6-7 year-old kids wearing facepaint. All I have to say is those kids must have some pretty cool parents! |

If you're back from NJ by then, you could hit the Green Day concert for an encore after the Queen + PR gig! :-P |

Krizzy...have a rockin' BLAST!!!!!! Please report back...details, I want details! Especially want to know 2 things, if they do WATC and if Billie Joe sings...Day-Oh!, which I hear he pretty much has incorporated as a regular singalong with the audience now. F**KING COOL! :) |
Krizzy 02.09.2005 14:11 |
You got it, Arlene! Have a great weekend, all! May all those that are suffering from the storm find help and peace...give generously (if you can). Kriz ;o) |

F**KING COOL! :)Well, since I went to Giants Stadium last night, I can report on that. Yes, they have been singing 'We Are The Champions' in pretty much every single date of this tour. Although it's a decent cover, I kinda wished that they covered 'I Fought The Law' because it fits their style better. However, they did cover 'Shout' by the Isley Brothers, and I guess we all know that this song makes every single live audience go completely nuts. I remember Bon Jovi covered it 4 years ago when I saw them also at Giants Stadium, and it totally ROCKED!! There's plenty of "day-dohs" and other sing-alongs by Billie Joe. There's a very particular one that goes like this: - BILLIE JOE: Everybody say "Ahhhhhh" - CROWD: Ahhhhhhhh!! - BILLIE JOE: AHHHHHHHHHHHH!! - CROWD: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Then Billie Joe puts his hands down his pants and starts rubbing himself, and then he says: - Somebody please fuck me!! That sure made all the girls go crazy. |

Would you say Billy Joe is inspired by Freddie? |

Messenger Of Leah wrote: Would you say Billy Joe is inspired by Freddie?Well since Billie Joe keeps covering WATC and doing the singalong of Day-Oh!... ..add to that Dan's report about Billie Joe's camp take on rubbing his package and teasing the girls (or guys take your pick)....and yelling ''Somebody Please F**K ME!!!!'', I think we have conclusive evidence that Billie Joe was influenced and inspired by Freddie! :) ....P.S. GREEN DAY.....is HEADLINING the 3 city (NY, Los Angeles, Nashville) Concert BENEFIT Live 8 type event.... ...next Saturday 9/10/05 to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina, on MTV, VH1, CMT, and all the other MTV/VH1 Networks with ALL the donations going directly to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund/Effort. |
Mr.Jingles 02.09.2005 21:16 |
...not to mention that Billie Joe also comes out wearing a King cape and a crown just like Freddie did during the Magic Tour finale with 'God Save The Queen'. He does it when Green Day plays 'King For A Day'. Also Billie Joe seems very influenced by Roger Daltry since he constantly swings the mic. |
SergeantPepperDG 02.09.2005 22:49 |
My friend who is completely obsessed with Green Day went to a concert a few weeks ago. She said that Billie Joe masturbated onstage... |
doremi 03.09.2005 11:45 |
I have to admit, 10 some years ago when Green Day hit, Billie Joe looked like a scrawny punk kid. Now that he's in his 30's and has dphysically developed and also has creatively developed as a charismatic performer, I find him quite F**King HOT!!!! |
Gunpowder Gelatine 03.09.2005 16:18 |
Sounds like a great concert! I'd love to see them, but I've kind of zapped my concert funds after harassing everyone in my immediate family for Queen tickets! |
Krizzy 05.09.2005 14:19 |
To all, The Green Day concert at Gillette Stadium was a blast they had fireworks and other incredible onstage fire effects as well as alot of audience participation. Mr. J. I don't know if this happened at Giants stadium's show but at one point Billie Joe asked the audience if anyone can play drums, bass and guitar then he picked three young guys out of the audience and after they finished he gave them the bass and guitar they played on stage plus a set of Tre's sticks to the guy who played drums...very cool! Also, did you guys have a guy in a pink bunny suit come out and dance just before the band took the stage! He was a rip!!!! LOL!!! Later, Kriz ;o) |
Mr.Jingles 05.09.2005 15:52 |
Awesome Krizzy!! I'm very glad you had a great time just like I did. He did the same thing at Giants Stadium about letting members of the audience play. The guy on drums kept the drum sticks, the girl (who was very good, btw) got to keep the guitar, and the guy who played the bass dived in the crowd. Oh, and the drunken bunny at the beginning of the show was hilarious. He had a bottle of beer and started drinking until hitting rock bottom, while the whole audience went... GO!! GO!! GO!! GO!! GO!! GO!! GO!! like on the frat party from 'Animal House'. |
