Hi everybody. This post marks the end of my fase as the Invisible Man in the QZ. I am from PORTUGAL.
I finally decided to join in the community. Nevertheless, I've been around for a long time now.
I read this forum on a daily basis...
I download some treasures on rapidshare...
I tend to be a scolar when it comes to Queen.
I do enjoy some of the sarcasm i read here and sometimes I laugh my ass off with some posts.
I am also a musician, which is quite useful to even appreciate more Queen music.
I saw the Q+PR tour in Madrid and Lisbon, and I got the chance to meet Roger and Brian, having spoke for 10 minutes with Roger (my music idol).
I don't know if this as been asked here before - it will serve as an introduction post - IF a Queen/Freddie movie ever see the light of day, what actor would you consider for the roles of Brian, Roger, John and specially Freddie?
Due to some physical resemblances, I can imagine Jeff Goldblum in the role of Freddie...
Who would you choose and why?
Do welcome me!
Yours Trrrrruly,
AL TURHAO
We had 100 of these topics already
Freddie Mercury - Super Mario
Roger Taylor - Anthony Hopkins
Brian May - Susan Sarandon
John Deacon - the dog from Lassie
Fried Chicken: No shit! In 100 posts... was that the best you could find? :P
Jeffrey Todd: Thank you very much! Always looking for a good exchange of points of view. People here seem to prefer other aspects.. but in my opinion MUSIC should always come first.
My Messenger: alturhao@hotmail.com ;)
Fenderek: too bad you're living in London, 'cause I've looking for a singer to my Queen tribute band for quite some time! It's not going to be one of those shitty dress-alikes band, just ordinary mortal guys playing immortal music.
About the actor who could play Freddie, I was kinda like being serious, people!
hello mate!!!! and welcome to the board :-)
oh i dnt think jeff would look like freddie he's about 7ft tall isnt he lol.
maybe keanu reeves? =freddie
jarvis cocker = brian may
taylor hawkins = roger taylor
ewan McGreggor = john deacon.
looking at it now hmmm what a state that band would look lol
Of the mainstream, known actors, I feel Johnny Depp would do the best job in portraying Freddie. He looked freakishly like Freddie in the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" movie, ESPECIALLY when he was getting his hair cut. And he has the charisma and the personality quirks to pull a Freddie off.
Who knows, it may happen, with biopics being done of Ray Charles and Johnny Cash, a Freddie Mercury one would be a cash cow (at least, in Europe).

ok my opinion is:-
Freddie Merc?=MY chemistry teacher, who i swear is Freddie Merc! loks like him, sounds like him, prances around like him, jees the perfect look alike!
Roger Taylor?=Roger Meadow Taylor
Brian May?=Brain "red special" May
John Deacon?= Deacon John!
Many posts have been made on this already, but I am the last person who is going to whine about that.
I'm a video editor/scriptwriter who loves movies to death, but I can never really answer this one. I think the problem is that I have followed Queen so close for so long that I can't imagine anyone really playing them.
If I had to give it a shot, I would guess Gael Garcia Bernal would make a good Freddie. He looks a bit like a young Freddie and he is a tremendous actor, possibly one who could pull it off. As for the others, Stephen Rea as Brian(needs to grow a foot first), Edward Norton as John Deacon, Ryan Phillipe as Roger. I think if this cast was hired to make a Queen movie, I would be skeptical and negative. I just can't see anyone pulling it off right.

Bem vindo!
