ok, i know that nearly each tour Queen has done, there has been at least ONE rarest gig. e.g.
Drammen 82,
South Africa 84
and i know theres more tours with a rarest gig, like Houston was. so how come the magic tour didnt have one? and if it did, which do you think would of been rarest?
I read that the masters of the Cologne show don't exist anymore as they were overtaped. I don't know if there are copies of the master somewhere though. Another really rare video from the Magic Tour would be a complete pro-shot of the Mannheim show.
Taped over masters? Doubtful - they wouldn't have erased every trace of audio & footage from such a major act.... we aren't talking about the BBC in the 60's early 70s here. Even if the masters were "lost", there would be several different "sub masters".
I just wrote what I read here sometime ago. As mentioned already the Cologne gig was taped by the same people that taped in Budapest and the Cologne show was apparently just a "rehearsal". So I guess they just wanted to check their equipement or something and there was never any intention of releasing the Cologne show, therefore it may be possible that it was overtaped then. Of course I hope that a copy of the master still exists.
