I'm curious as to how many albums were available to fans in the U.S. on CD before Hollywood Records got involved. If anyone can add to this, please do so.
On Elektra Records:
- Greatest Hits (original 1981 U.S. version)
Anything else? I've heard that 'The Game' was the very first Queen CD anywhere, but was it released here? Any other older albums prior to the Capitol years?
On Capitol records:
- A Kind of Magic
- The Miracle
- Classic Queen (promo compilation)
And various singles, but I'm mainly interested in full albums. Was 'The Works' available on Capitol CD? I would be surprised if it wasn't. Capitol was well into digital mastering and CDs by 1984.
Thanks Serry :)
Based, on that, it looks like all that were available were:
News Of The World CD Elektra 112-2
The Game CD Elektra 64513-2
Greatest Hits CD Elektra (info missing)
The Works CD Capitol CDP 7 46016 2
A Kind Of Magic CD Capitol CDP 7 46267 2

They didn't have an entry for Greatest Hits (1981 version) but it does exist.
