I've said it before and I will say it again:
Queen + Rufus Wainright would be the best possible band for today. Rufus is no Freddie(nobody is even close) but he has a sound that would click with Queen. I would love, LOVE to hear Rufus cover The Millionare Waltz just once. This guys has a sound that would merge with Brian and Roger in a very perfect way. Anyone else agree with me???
Hmmm... I have to say that I do like quite some of his work.
But every time I listen to his voice for more then 15 minutes my cat starts to ruin the curtains...
marry me Ameriqueen. (if you're a guy).
i've been telling all my friends for years now that Rufus is so amazing and that i think he is very much influenced by queen's early work and especially Freddie's theatrical tracks. i think that is why he is one of my favorite active artists...
god, to see him with Queen would be like... like... Heaven on earth or something. amazing.
I think he would be great on some of the camp cabaret style Queen material like Seaside Rendevous, Lazing On A Sunday Afternoon, The Millionaire Waltz, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy
I don't think he would be so good on their more rock and pop oriented material.
I sure would love to hear a Rufus Wainwright/Queen collaboration on some campy cabaret style pieces.
