It won't sell well anyway but treat yourself to a PROPER Queen DVD instead. I can recommend: Live At Wembley 86 Greatest Video Hits I & II Live At The Bowl I hope the new DVD will not go on sale as an official Queen product. Save your money for Greatest Video Hits 3. |

At least the Q+PR DVD is new and for those that went will bring back fantastic memorys of the 2005 tour. The live at Wembley and Bowl DVD's are great but i just can't get carried away by the Greatest Video Hits.(each to their own i suppose) p.s i saw Freddie with Queen live countless times and STILL enjoyed the Q+PR tour.I can remember Hyde Park in'76 but still loved the show at that venue in '05. |

Dear BPP, you're not the only one to have seen Queen live with dear old Freddie on vocals, I must have seen them at least 10 times back in the 70's, I also saw Queen + Paul Rodgers in Stockholm, and to be frank with you, you're talking out of your arse!!! If the remaining members of Queen wish to tour with the band name(which they have every right to do, as it was Brian and Roger that got the original band together in the first place) then that's up to them. Both Brian and Roger have gone on record time and again saying that Paul isn't a replacement for Freddie, and it's about time you accepted that fact.Unfortunently, Freddie's no longer with us, but Brian and Roger have got on with their lives and it's about time you did likewise!! Nobody's forcing you to buy any of the material being released, but I for one can't wait to buy what will be a fantastic memory of one hell of a gig!!!! |

Localboy80 22.08.2005 10:36 |
Now if I had to guess, I would have this BPP down as roughly 8 to 15 years old (sincere apologies to the fans on this site of that age but trust me, you are a lot more mature). But if I recall from an old thread, I am sure he is in his 40's! For God's sake, what an arsehole! As Freddie would say 'He is talking from here'. And yes, you know where 'here' is! Basically, everybody is entitled to their own opinion, no matter how pathetic it may seem to some people but when that person keeps on and on and especially about something that is so shit and also when it involves trying to convince people that he has a valid point, then it is time for that person to be banned! As it has been said for about a zazillion amount of times, there will never be another Freddie Mercury and nobody but nobody will ever replace him. They are not trying to do that!!! I can respect if you don't like Paul Rodgers but you really have not got a clue if you don't think Paul Rodgers has an excellent voice! At the end of the day, if a 'mature' adult acts the way you do, then God help your children (if you have any). Then again, I cannot see you being married or have any children, as you are such a narrow minded, stuck in your ways prick! So Queen died in 1991??? Funny that, I thought it was Freddie Mercury who sadly passed away! So I take it you disagree with not only this fantastic tour but also the tribute concert, the 'Made In Heaven' album, the 'No-One But You (Only The Good Die Young)' single, the 'Queen Rocks' album and the 'We Will Rock You' show? I mean, Heaven forbid, it just isn't Queen, because there is no Freddie Mercury!!! I would love nothing more, than for Freddie to be alive and still BE A PART OF QUEEN. But he is dead! You are one of the most stubborn idiots if you will not even try going to one of the concerts and see for yourself what it would be like. I was fortunate enough to see Queen and Paul Rodgers at Cardiff C.I.A and at Hyde Park. The two concerts were fantastic! You had Brian May and Roger Taylor playing as if age had not caught up with them and Paul Rodgers voice was excellent. After both concerts, I said to my girlfriend that seeing as it was so good, just imagine what it would have been like with Freddie. Of course it would be better but this is the closest thing we will ever get. Yes, we have memories of Freddie and his performances/concerts and they will never go away. But is your brain capacity that small that you cannot create new memories and that you are so far up your own arse that you act like a spoilt child and will not even give the concert a chance???!!! Brian May and Roger Taylor was part of a band called Queen, just like Freddie Mercury. Freddie Mercury was not Queen but a part of a fantastic group called Queen. I also believe Freddie quoted that they would be together until they died. Does the song 'The Show Must Go On' mean anything to you? Brian and Roger are musicians, so why shouldn't they go out there under the name of Queen, when that was their name in the first place? I know you will probably come back with a pathetic response like, 'Queen is not Queen without Freddie Mercury' and to an extent, yes, I agree but in the context of that Queen will never be as good without Freddie Mercury but as a true fan, of course you would recognise that but how can you justify that Queen died in 1991, when it was just one person who actually died? That is like saying every time a football club, say Manchester United, loses a player, then that football club can no longer and is no longer Manchester United? I mean, I love Wayne Rooney as a player and I would hate to see Manchester United lose him but would that stop me supporting Manchester United or them changing their name? No, of course it wouldn't. Did I ever want Freddie to die? Of course not but do I want Queen to exist in any shape or form? Of course I do! I mean, come on, get a grip on reality here and bloody gro |

Fenderek 25.08.2005 03:55 |
I think Rodgers is better than Mercury. On the technical level. It's simply better LIVE singer. Not showmen, it's not about charisma- it's about TECHNIACAL singing and Rodgers is head above Mercury who used to scream and squeak a lot live... Rodgers is different style singer, true, but when it gets to voice emmision and this kind of stuff- he's MUCH better... |
deleted user 25.08.2005 04:07 |
Fenderek?! Oh my god?! Guys?! Are you jokin'?! Are you completely crazy!? What a courage saying this! I can't believe it! Do you realize what you've just said?! Pherhaps last night you got drunk! Or maybe your girlfriend has leaved you! Or your dog is died! I don't know, but I don't accept this absurde commen! I think Freddie is the best singer in the world and nobody can be better than him! STOP! |
Fenderek 25.08.2005 05:21 |
No- my GF is right next to me, my dog is safe in Poland, last time I drank was about week ago... TECHNICALLY Freddie live wasn't the bast singer, sorry to tell you this... just listen to WATC and find me ONE version when he hit the highest note... I have NEVER heard him doing so... Always by the end of EVERY gig his voice was really tired, and the fact that demanding songs like Radio ga-Ga were played than wasn't helping... He was FORCING the high notes... I'm a singer myslef and know a bit about the technical stuff- I CAN'T sing neither as good as Freddie nor as Rodgers (I wish...), but I can tell you if someone is using the voice in a better or worse way. Freddie didn't hit the high notes easily, he was really forcing them. It may sound good on some records (TSMGO- it was forced and that's why it's so brilliant and emotional) but less so live... Listen to even Back Chat demo- there's this terrible scream in the middle of it... Or I Want to Break Free from Wembley when he's almost off key for a moment... Or infamous squak in FBG at Milton Keynes (changed for the release). Those things do happen to ANYONE, but there are singers who sing with more ease than Freddie and who sing "cleaner" than Freddie... Paul Rodgers is one of them... IN MY OPINION. I may think that Queen was the best band EVER, but that doesn't meant that I have to think that Deacon is the best bass player ever, Roger- the best drummer, Brian- the best guitarist and Freddie- the best singer... I'm a Queen fan, not Mercury fan or Taylor fan. I have every right to think that Paul Rodgers is TECHNICALLY better singer than Freddie. And being musician I can justify my opinin to myself. It's not general truth- it's my opinion based on my own personal experience and taste. And hell yeah- I'm going to say it loud on QZ, why not. Will it make BPP and others angry? I couldn't care less... And what- just because Freddie's dead I can't say someone I believe can (could) sing technically better? C'mon...!!! You guys should nmake the guy saint- sometimes I have a feeling that we're allowed to talk about him only on our knees... |
