I am currently reading the Morrissey's bio. Here it claims that Freddie adored the song 'Bengali In Platforms' from the Viva hate album, 1988. It goes on further to say that Freddie was convinced the piece was about him. Additionally, from this excerpt it reveals more-
"Though he(Freddie) had been born in Zanzibar and raised in Bombay , he like liked to think that Morrissey had based it on his 'glam rock piss-take' of Gary Glitter during his pre-Queen phase when he had been know as Larry Lurex".
Just curious whether anyone could elaborate more on this.
Marc
I dont know anything about Morrisey except he was in a band called the Smiths and they put out an album calle dthe Queen is dead (when I use to type Queen in the ebay search engine in the music catagory a lot of hits for that album came up.). Seriously, thats all I know about him and I'm not a hundred percent sure thats right. Anyway I prefaced with that because I was tempted to say I dont know how much stock to put in to that bio you're reading because their was no Freddie Larry Lurex phase, Larry Lurex never performed anyone, he really didn't exist except on that one single. it was one single and he probably would've put it out under his own name or possibly Queen if they wren't so close to producing their own compositions.
