I would like to know when the band has planned to release Greatest Video Hits 3 and if this DVD would feature unreleased videos or documentals. Thank you Guys |
mike hunt 18.08.2005 10:47 |
yea they plan on releasing this, but, who care? i would much rather a live DVD of a 70's show. |
Serry... 18.08.2005 11:28 |
I would much rather GVH III. We need to finish this project (promo videos) firstly! |

They need to re-realease GH1and2, because they're impossible to get new, I can only find them old and used... does anyone know where I can get them? They need to release every video Queen ever made... in my opinion. |

nibznik 18.08.2005 23:56 |
yeah they're cheap here, i have all the dvd's except the FMTC, on fire at the bowl was only $17, wembley was cheap too, and gvh I & II were only 3x dollars. CDN of course. Think it's a good investment, BTW is there an HMV in the states, if not is there a major leader in cd distribution, the biggest competitors to HMV are Sunrise Records and Music World. |

Thank God the Wembley & MK didn't suffer this horrendous fate. |

Heh, it gives me hope to hear that the first two are becoming hard to find. I keep praying that they will redo these properly as has been stated. The video quality is dreadful.. GVH1 is even single layer. The faked widescreening is wrong, and they even screwed it up on 2 videos on GHV2, not to mention all the separate titles on that one rather than one complete program.. understandable in one case since The Invisible Man apparently had to be left full-frame. Frankly they are a mess. The 2nd discs in both cases are okay I suppose.. they just need to redo the main discs and I'd be happy. And though it's been discussed many times before, it's simply uncool to exclude a Dolby Digital track so everyone can enjoy the remixes. And after recently converting all of the DTS mixes to Dolby Digital myself so I could finally hear them, at 448Kbps they come out incredibly small and would not have much of an effect on overall quality. It's stupid to not give people the option. Peter Gabriel put a note in his 'Play' booklet stating that the DTS mixes were preferable, but included Dolby Digital so everyone could enjoy them. And his 'Play' DVD is simply amazing btw. As for Wembley, the fucking bitrate never goes above 2.5! It might as well be a damn SVCD! They wasted a ton of space on the upmixed DTS track. 'On Fire' somehow manages to look decent, to me anyway. Of the whole 'DVD Collection', this one by some group called 'Queen On Fire' is the best in overall quality. |

do you think they will realese a "platinum collection dvd-box"? |
Lord Fickle 21.08.2005 16:05 |
My guess is that, like everything else, QP deliberately released crap first versions of these, because they knew they would sell, with the full intention of re-releasing tarted up versions later on, so as to sell them twice. They will then release them all again in a box set, with a 'bonus' DVD of even more crap, so we buy the f**kers a third time! It's becoming usual practice with DVD releases, to release one version, then a better version later. Far be it from QPL to miss out on an easy money spinner like that! |
deleted user 22.08.2005 17:42 |
Is there an exact date for the release of the Live DVD?? |
PainPleasure 22.08.2005 20:52 |
Should be fun to see the trilogy complete. Can't wait to see behind the scenes stuff from Innuendo's era. |

QP don't even do this (apart sound which is overkilled on some of the Queen DVDs IMO)! |

"Totally agree, but at least Hollywood DO release good quality first releases as far as pic and sound go. QP don't even do this (apart sound which is overkilled on some of the Queen DVDs IMO)! " QP are NOT a record company. They license the material to Hollywood Records in the US and Parlophone in the UK etc.... any recent releases will be exactly the same, as both Parlophone & Hollywood will have been supplied wit the same masters by QP. |
KevMull 23.08.2005 07:22 |
I meant 'Hollywood' in the more general term as 'Hollywood film studio' DVDs and not the record company. |

Kevo wrote: I meant 'Hollywood' in the more general term as 'Hollywood film studio' DVDs and not the record company. Why mention them? It's not like the Queen dvd's can ever aspire to those. I don't understand that comparison. Peace, Adam. |
KevMull 23.08.2005 11:25 |
Let me clarify... If it was QP intentions to do a second release ('Special Edition' etc) like a lot of Hollywood studios do then they could at least have the deceny to do a half decent transfer/author job in the first place. At least DVD films (even barebones, 'first editions') have decent picture quality these days. I thought DVD authoring/transfers had moved on since the 'Warner transfer from VHS' days! Obviously not in the Queen Hits case! |

I dont see what the huge problem is, they sound great and yea the picture quality may be slightly shite but who gives a flying fuck. When they were originally screened on TV think of all those people who only had shitty rabbit ears that were able to pick up a little bit of picture but mainly fuzz. Theyre a darn sight better then that. In regards to the original topic, I cant wait for GHIII. Might as well finish off the trilogy of videos so we can get the Innuendo period, Made In Heaven and hopefully some solo/no one but you stuff. Plus if you want 70s queen shows join the queen hub on DC++. Theyve got absolutely everything. Most of those concerts are to cut down to be able to restore properly to DVD. And then when they do and they end up with a couple of cuts and/or shitty video quality youll still be whining. |

They're not used, though. anyway, i think they shouldn't have to re-release all the videos again. They spent a hell of a long time getting these two out in the first place, let them release GVH 3, then give us a couple of live shows, like Earl's Court or something like that. |
