I'm sure it's not a new topic but I am curious to see what people say is their favorite Queen concert. With so many bootlegs out there it would be nice to hear some testimony on which ones would be worth getting over others. My favorite Queen concerts: 1. Earl's Court '77 2. Montreal '81(we will rock you dvd) 3. Houston '77 4. Rainbow '74 5. Chicago '80 6. Milton Keynes '82(on fire at the bowl) 7. Budapest '86 8. Hammersmith Odeon Xmas '75 |

The only one I've ever seen all the way through is Wembley '86, so I guess it would have to be that, I really do want to see Houston '77 and Hyde Park tho, any1 know where I can get the videos? |

Apparently the gig to see queen on during the HS tour was Leeds (Elland Rd) |

Omaha '80 was actually better than Chicago '80, but unfortunately there's no boot around to prove that ;) Queen's best show is most likely something not available on boots...well at least they were all recorded...somewhere.... |

Queen Live At The Summit Houston 11 Decembre 1977, simply the best show. P.S. this is the 10th topic about the best concert... |

Houston is THE concert |

I know it is fun to do this topic but you guys must listen to more shows before you can say it. And this is always depending on what we like for kind of setlist, and which member do you think of most, is it always freddie's performance that is the thing you think of. so this is a topic can go on forever... |

1)Houston 1977(no question, I loved the My Melancholy Blues and Brian's solo spot here and the rest of the show just kicked ass) 2)Montreal 1981(great show on the We Will Rock You DVD unfortunate the French Canadian speaking audiences were more reserved than the US or English or English Canadian audiences here) 3)Earls Court 1977(the Queen II stuff rocked as did Brighton Rock here) 4)Milton Keynes 1982 5)Zurich 1978 6)Wembley Arena 1980 7)Rainbow Theatre November, 1974 8)Hammersmith 1975 9)Japan 1985 9)Wembley Stadium 1986 |

You guys kill me! You take this shit so seriously and rip each other apart when someone wants to start a new thread that has been done before. If you don't like the fact that they have started another thread that was done 5 days ago, well fucking ignore it then. Maybe they didn't have the time to go through and search every time they have a question or a thought and just want to ask it anyway. I see this all the DAMN time were you guys get pissed because someone starts a thread and others think they shouldn't or they should search first or add on somewhere else. Get a life! |
TarHeelDDS2005 07.08.2005 14:23 |
And this isn't in particular to this thread, just a pattern I have noticed up here alot with people bitching at each other saying, "before you post a thread that's been done before, research it and search for it first". Blah, blah, blah, don't take this shit so seriously and take a chill pill. By the way, I like the Osaka show in 1976. |
neodave 07.08.2005 15:23 |
i think wembley is amazing. they played perfect! freddies voice...incredible! a fantastic performence from all queenmemberd! |
AmeriQueen 08.08.2005 13:42 |
I appreciate all of the feedback on this so far. One this is for sure... I need to check out the Hammersmith '79 show. |
on my way up 08.08.2005 14:32 |
Yes,hammersmith'79 is great.Especially crazy little thing called love:the audience that starts the song again and also after sheer heart attack:Queen are the chmpions:-)freddie is in great voice and the others are brilliant aswell!I'd like this as e dvd!!! |
My Melancholy Blues 09.08.2005 20:02 |
I like these ones as follows: Hammy'79 Houston '77(though they didn't play "It's Late") Glasgow'77 Earls Court'77 Chicago '78( I prefer this to Montreal'78 from the Jazz tour) Manchester'75 Tokyo May'75 Hammy '75 Wembley'86 Live Aid '85(it's not Queen's concert, but their performance at that time was one of the best ones) Milton Keynes'82 Rainbow Nov,'74 and many many more... |
AmeriQueen 09.08.2005 23:52 |
What truly baffles the hell out of me is why Queen won't do with Houston '77 or Earl's Court '77 what they did with the Milton Keynes show. Not only would it be a better show, it would represent the pre-Jazz period that they have no official live releases for. I think their greatest songs got taken away a little with the News tour and a whole lot with Jazz. We need great, crisp versions of White Queen, Prophet Song, Liar, In The Lap Revisited, Ogre Battle, Millionare Waltz, etc. |

1. wembely 86 was fucking shite...freddie's voice was shafted - bigtime!!! - the show was great - but his voice sufferedFINALLY SOMEONE AGREES WITH ME! The best? Hammersmith'79 was awesome, Sao Paulo'81 was a great one as well, I love Osaka'76, I have a spot for Golders Green, Glasgow'77... From MAGIC TOUR Budapest and Knebworth were definitely the best ones... Add Tokyo'75 (1st of may) or 31st of March 1976, maybe even Milton Keynes (excellent Freddie's performance) and you've got the best ones IMO... |
AmeriQueen 10.08.2005 16:46 |
I agree as well. Wembley '86 blows(for Queen's standards). Budapest is way better in my opinion. Everyone was right, Hammersmith '79 is totally incredible! I love this Bittorent thing! |
tia 11.08.2005 08:18 |
I havnt seen that many live concert performances by Queen. I always thought the Wembley 86 concert was amazing until I watched Live At The Bowl DVD.Freddies voice in this performance was alot better. His voice seemed more relaxed. In the Wembley concert he seemed to be forcing his voice alot. He still was great though. |
netpredakonn 11.08.2005 13:03 |
for me the best one ever is queen 20/01/1981 at sao paulo, morumbi stadium, its my favorite, from all times... |

ficodr 12.08.2005 00:16 |
I like Houston 77, Hammy 75, Chicago 78, Wembley 80.... But above all,........ HAMMY 79, IMO, is far the best!!!! IMO, it has the best version of Dont Stop me Now, Now Im here, Mustapha and Somebody To love... Freddie's voice is very very energic and clear, unlike many Live Killers shows... Wow, what a great concert... |
deleted user 12.08.2005 00:20 |
hammersmith 79 for sure |
jorge 12.08.2005 03:16 |

pablitosabina 21.02.2006 18:06 |
The Best for me is the Live at the Earl´s Court Concert 77, It´s amazing!!! and I agree whith The Wembley Concert 86 Freddie´s voice was too forced , the Budapest Concert was a much better show. |
LASPALABRASDEAMOR 21.02.2006 18:20 |
i like Queen in Rio in front of 250,000 people |
Freddie_Jr. 21.02.2006 21:16 |
Probably the rainbow, but that's just because I'm a classic Queen fan. |
goinback 22.02.2006 05:41 |
Yeah I have no idea what's special about Wembley...my throat hurts by the end after listening to Freddie try to hit those notes, and the song selection is the worst ever. It was col that they did all the '50s songs, but they really needed about three more Queen songs by the end of the show for a better balance. Budapest I do enjoy, because it's like Wembley except everything sounds better and there's more energy. Oh and it's filmed AT NIGHT: Why did they get all those cool lights for Wembley and then play most of the show in the daytime when you can't see them?!? Live At The Bowl is maybe the best amongst official DVDs (though that's out of only 3). The best concert is probably one that we have no audience recording of :( |
