Queen and PR hardly finished their first tour and they are already working on releasing their first concert album. Right? So why does it take twenty plus years to release a Queen album from the Hot Space tour? Why wait so long? Now we will wait another decade to see Hammersmith Campuchea show, and even more to see Houston, any of the Japanese or the Works tours. I will be fucking long dead before I see any of it. Why did Queen decided to issue a new album with PR? He might be a good performer, but I am interested only with Queen material with Freddie and John in it. What do you people think?
But will it be a cash in? QP obivously hope so... but who'd really want to buy a CD or DVD with Paul Rodgers singing Queen songs? Its one thing going to the show... but who would repetedly want to watch Rodgers singing Queen hits? Not many... expect to find it in the January sales... thats all I'll say!

I agree with you - but the problem with releasing Queen live material is that it has to include certain songs to appeal to the average fan in the street.

The Sheffield isn't from QP so we're still getting something from QP.
Live albums never sell well with the exception of Frampton Comes Alive and to a much lesser extent maybe Live Killers and Live Magic....I think part of the reason for this is to get Queen's music out there again...and personally I think it's great...people know it's not Freddie but if they want Freddie they can buy Live Killers....this tour is attracting new fans to Queen and for many of them Paul is just fine....personally I will enjoy every note....Paul's a great singer but what I love more is to hear every note in Brian's guitar solos and to hear new tracks like "Say It's Not True" and to actually hear live versions of "I Want It All" and "Show Must Go On" ....if you don't like it, don't buy it....but don't keep whining.....as other people actually like the fact that Brian and Roger (and Paul) are still making music and bringing Queen's music and legacy worldwide in 2005!
QUEEN ROCKS FOREVER!! THE SHOW MUST GO ON!
well, as queenrocks 91 says, is just like a new period of Queen, we must accept it, and whygiving thecontrary to them? its by farthe best music right now, its absurd not to buy it, what do you guys prefer? SYSTEM OF A DOWN? some reggaeton?...QUEEN ROCKS ,cheers
Well, here are some live discs that did well. Bruce Springsteen's Live 1975-85 outsold Frampton Comes Alive in the US as did Garth Brooks' Double Live. The two post-Roger Waters era Pink Floyd double live albums Delicate Sound of Thunder and Pulse each sold three million copies each! Deep Purple's Made in Japan sold well as did ELP's Welcome Back My Friends to the Show That Never Ends. KISS' Alive only went Gold and not Quadruple Platinum much to KISS' claims. Queen's Live Killers is Double Platinum in the US and Live at Wembley went Platinum as well here. The Who's Live at Leeds sold well as well.

You obviously didn't download the newest shows. Arnhem is simply in my top 10 of all time Queen bootlegs.
Wether you like Paul Rodgers or not they are doing a great job. And yeah they'r still the best.
Many live albums have sold well. That is just what they thought way back before "Frampton Comes Alive"...ever heard of MTV Unplugged? Sheesh there are many other live releases that have sold very well. There is a strategic way to sell and release things and I totally agree they should not wait another decade for a live release but that they should wait until 2009. Then after that about three years and then two between more live releases and perhaps a that point releasing a live l.p. once a year for a few years...
Now is a very bad time to whine, Queen is once again in the news, they found a capable singer, they toured, we fans (most of us anyway) had a blast seeing the show, and of course we'll be happy to buy the horribly titled ROTC.
QPR, an active band, and the Queen catalogue are two different things. We all want Earl's Court, Hammy 79, Christmas 75 and more, and maybe we'll get them someday. Until then we have the boots, the downloads from queenonline ...
The QPR thing can't do the Queen business any wrong, I think. The more Queen increases their share of voice, the more material they will release. Plus we're music fans more than archaeologist, now aren't we ?

EXATCLY! If they are being talked about- there makes more sense to release Hammy 79 at that point, as it will sell...
And of course it doesn't take a long time to release THIS Sheffield footage. remember taht the video and audio are of superior quality and do not require that much cleaning and tinkering, whereas the old tapes need some work on'em...
