sometimes when i watch the live aid concert, i ask myself why queen didn't perform with bowie. it was a perfect situation. it was possible to perform under pressure for one time with all involved persons. freddie, david, john, roger and brian.
...too bad!
Egos were the slime of the day at live aid. Even Trip thought he'd get his little moment when he goes and tells the camera man to back off from the piano just as Freddie puts on his guitar for Crazy little thing so he can get his little moment at the end of the song when he plays. Then as Queen wave goodbye at the end of we are the champions you can see him just in front of the drum kit also waving. All this can be seen on the dvds. Egotistical fools!
well he mustve thought! He's right in the middle of the stage behind Queen. This is visible on the dvd for a second before it cuts to America. Im sure he was standing there much longer than a second though! He takes a bow by the looks of it
I know this is an old thread that I'm now bumping, but I was just reading through old posts about Trip when I came across this one. I'm pretty sure that's Spike Edney in both places. He was playing rhythm guitar at Live Aid along with the band, we see him in his white T-shirt cross downstage (sans guitar) in that moment where Vinny thinks Trip (who should definitely be at his desk) comes to tell the cameraman off, and then the person who bobs his head in a bow in front of the drum kit crosses to the kit from where Spike had been playing the guitar, and they're wearing the same shirt with the cropped sleeves.
