Okay Im pretty sure there are a few of ye out there-come forward and confess!! No I'm really here to ask if anyone saw Gerry Ryans hitlist featuring his top 20 ads last night, Bank Holiday Monday? Did he show that eircom ad with Pat Shortt dancing around with a hoover to 'I want to break free'? Please reply to this thread 'coz I missed it last night.
*I* am here....
However, I live on the North Coast, and we don't get RTE up here. This is because (a) RTE don't like the fact that we don't your licence fee and (b) I refuse to pay for an aerial booster to pick it up...
Alas, I cannot help - but best regards anyway, dear Southerner!!!
Can't say I saw it to be honest but the words "Gerry Ryan" and "TV programme" usually make me look for the remote contol and a quick change of channel.
btw. Is there any Irish fan club? There seems to be quite a few Irish fans on Queenzone. An Irish fan club with occasional meetings would be good.
Just a thought....
Didn't see it meave but i do agree with republic re:Gerry "a face for radio" Ryan cant abide him There's not an irish fan club that i know of except maybe Linda's Website link
I didn't see the Gerry Ryan program - but vaguely remember the Eircom advert itself.
But Does anyone remember the Club Orange advert which RTE had on around 1984 ? It had "Don't Stop me Now" and was set in a school.
Well I'm of Irish descent, unfortunately my great great grandaddy left County Sligo and now I'm trying like hell to get back to the Emerald Isle and away from the country ruled by King George Dubya the Second. The man is a kook!
