Hey I was just watching Live At Wembley DVD and I was wondering a few things about the show.
1. What is it that Freddie sings between Tutti Fruitti and Bohemian Rhapsody? I can't seem to understand it.
2. Why does Freddie say "thank you, good night" at the end of Crazy Little Thing Called Love when they continue playing after the song?
3. Not really related to the show itself but I was wondering what do you think it would sound like if Queen tried to preform the opera part of Bohemian Rhapsody live?
RE: Question 1 - did you receive a DVD without any menus or artwork so you have no track listing? I'd take it right back to where you bought/rent it and tell them it's incomplete!
Question 2 - It's a common yet silly practice at concerts for the performer to say goodnight, receive applause and 'return' for encores.
Question 3 - Queen never felt comfortable with the idea of attempting the opera section live, as it's so complex and was created in the studio with multiple overdubs. So I think they could have done a stripped-down version (as some artists who covered the song have done) and it would have been ok, but the song would have lost its magic. It is performed live by the cast of 'We Will Rock You' simply because they have enough voices in the cast to pull it off.

1.its "Gimme some Lovin'"
2.if my memory serves me correct, this was shot over 2 days. if i am wrong, then please, correct me.
3.i think it would sound different.
Shot over one day. The We Will Rock You concert in Montreal was shot over two.
Crazy Little Thing was the end of the first set during the Magic Tour. It was standard to tell the audience ''good night,'' run off stage, let them shout for a bit, then come back on and do the first encore. Second encore began with WWRY.
Many, many bands do that.

i thought it was 2 days... thank you for the correction...:)
I have a few questions about Wembley myself, particularly the DVD version.....
did we really need to have 4 gazillion camera angles, and switch between shots about every 5 seconds? That's a little annoying, or at least I think so.....
and what was with the HUGE sign off at one side of the stage that said DUDS?
I have a question too: How did they get away with having a bit rate no better than an SVCD? It never goes above 2.5 as far as I can see, yet it's dual layer.
The PCM is great, but ALL that wasted space on an upmixed '5.1' DTS track? Lordy.

If you check the dvd, you'll notice that the concert on it was shot over one day only, but they did shot some songs on the previous night as well (they're in the extras on the dvd). So yeah, they did have cameras there on both nights, but only the second was fully filmed. =)

no kidding. the video quality is awful more often than not during the concert.

Why have they got amps at the top of the catwalk?
Why would it being "duos" indicate it's amp-related?
Why can't it be light bulb related?
Why do I get sucked into these pointless threads?

youre wrong, it was just one complete concert
I know the song between Tutti Fruiti and Bohemian Rhapsody is called Gimme Some Lovin'. I wanted to know what the words are to that, because I can't understand them.
Well, using QueenWords and my own crappy hearing, here's what I've got:
Hey, yeah, yeah, yeah
Be a trucker honey
You get around
Jimmy in my pocket
Stealin' all the time, yeah, hey
I know, it makes NO sense at all.
As far as I know, that's not even in the original tune.
Well you can look up the original by Spencer Davis group (and sung by Steve Winwood) link
That doesn't necessarily mean Queen did the whole thing, or got the words right.. I'm too lazy to check right now.
I guess that could have been DUOS, but that doesnt make a whole lot of sense either....lol......or maybe if it was indeed DUDS it could be for "dud" amp tubes or something? ah, I dunno.......just one of those things I spend way too much time worrying about.....

It is in the original tune. God knows what he said. It's a great little riff though.

stealin all the time yeah"
