i know its made up of both nights but they could of done a better job than this, listen
With Radio Ga Ga:-
Freddie starts singing behind roger, up the stairs on the raised staging with "We Watch the shows, we watch the stars..." but by the time he has finished that verse he has walked down the stairs, ok ,BUT when he starts singing "Lets hope you'll never, leave old friend" he is right back up the stairs agen and once agen walking down them! they could of done better than that, instead of making it dead obvious!
anyone else notice it? any other mistakes?
YOU OBVIOUSLY didn't notice the two TELEPORTERS in the video...an easy mistake that most novices make
look at the inventory for the Works Tour (see martin scully'y queenconcerts.com) ithink you'll see that there were actually SIX TELEPORTERS used in total on that tour ;-)
imo that show was terrible quality, i read somewhere that it was considered for a dvd release but they opted for MK, it could of been on brian's site i cant remember:s

I remember reading that too. But yet Rock In Rio was such a defining concert for them I think they still should release it and just clean up the ''mistakes''.
The sound and images should be cleaned up as well.
I played it a couple of months ago again, and damn: it sucks. Hardly any sound, and very unclear picture. Could be my old copy, but still.
I have the USA LaserDisc copy of the concert, and the sound is pretty good for a digital recording. I agree it should be cleaned up, but it's the best quality we'll get out of any releases there.

No it's not. Brian's guitar is a complete flop on that concert. Unless they could rise his guitar sound, or drums, or... just let it be!!
For me it's obvious that TV GLOBO (Brasil) didn´t record the audio sound of this concert. You probably get the sound of the video tapes as they were recorded for broadcast.
Their final japan concert of that tour is 1000 times better in everything. That would be a great DVD release not only for the japanese market!
Take care

This release is probably the worst one ever. Poor performance, badly filmed by Brazilian TV company...just overall shit really. Real embarassment when they have other much better shows to release.
I wonder if the fact that the gig started at 02.00 hours in the morning had anything to do with it?
The main problem with the Rio show is the equipment the visuals were recorded on.
In 1985, globo tv were using the same hardware that they used in the 70s!
I've seen the laser disc & video 8 (remember them!) versions of this show & they are really no better than the VHS release.
As a show, i always quite liked rio, but when it first came out, we didn't have a lot to choose from.
Personally hoping for Hyde park '76 myself ;-)
I still believe that Jim Beach is biased, and won't release any non-UK Queen concerts on DVD as part of the Queen DVD Collection series.
That's why we'll probably never see Rio released on DVD, even if it could be fixed and restored
