Prepare for your jaw to drop: $30 - $200 That is WAAAAAAAAAY too much. I would expect to see Freddie resurrected from the grave for $200. |
Mr.Jingles 25.07.2005 18:40 |
LOL I saw that too link |
PieterMC 25.07.2005 18:41 |
There is no way a full US tour would work with prices at that level. Average Joe is not going to come out and see "Queen" without Freddie for $200. |
Shay 25.07.2005 18:45 |
...And I thought I read a couple weeks ago where average concert ticket prices were dropping....LOL |

PieterMC wrote: There is no way a full US tour would work with prices at that level. Average Joe is not going to come out and see "Queen" without Freddie for $200.I totally agree. In fact, the USA tour guides Pollstar and Billboard said that 2004 was the USA's all time WORST tour year and suffered the worst financial losses and had the most amount of music artists/bands... ...CANCEL their tours due to when tickets would go on sale for venues, the main USA promoter Clear Channell and the bands would notice that less then 80% or way worse of each venue would sell, so they would cancel altogether. ....The REASON...Bands were WAY Overcharging ticket prices in 2004............ This is NOT good common sense, in a tough USA economy and where MUCH bigger artists still were forced to cancel their tours... ..or LOWER their prices. ...Most artists...even Madonna and Prince, the only artists who did NOT lose money on their 2004 USA tours...intentionally LOWERED their prices, to show good faith to their fans.... ..and MADE money in the long run because FANS responded and the each venue sold out...so Madonna and Prince kept ADDING tour dates and cities in the USA. What the hell are Queen thinking? Even if my financial situation was much better, I'm not paying $200 EVEN if Freddie comes back from the grave. That makes me feel as if they are taking advantage of people and not valuing their fans. I predicted this months ago when we were all also talking about... ..on top of all this, in October, Queen will be competing with USA fans and their hard earned money ..with the likes of... .... U2, The Rolling Stones, Cream, Duran Duran...ALL (except Cream) who are charging LOWER!!!!!! For $200 Fucking dollars I better be the only fan there in a private show, with me on stage and champagne served to me. Christ on a bike! |
The King Of Rhye 25.07.2005 19:17 |
heck..I saw that and thought.....hey theres a $30 ticket? I'd be there........if I was anywhere near CA |

Mr.Jingles 25.07.2005 19:38 |
U2 is charging lower? I don't think so. I paid 60 bucks for first level seats 4 years ago, and on this tour the price for those same seats is 100. |
Gunpowder Gelatine 25.07.2005 19:58 |
These prices are insane (then again I paid $180 to see U2 last fall, but that was a present) but I'm probably just going to pay whatever sky-high amount they want to charge because I'm crazy enough to do it! Queen (in whatever form) hasn't been here for over twenty years and I'm not going to take the chance that they don't ever come back! |
Queen T 25.07.2005 19:58 |
Anybody know anything about the "pool circle" as shown on the Hollywood Bowl venue chart? I reckon those are the $200 tickets? |
All I Hear Is Radio Gaga 25.07.2005 19:59 |
200$?! That's rediculous! I would imagine between 30-100, even that is alot, but 200$? |
All I Hear Is Radio Gaga 25.07.2005 20:05 |
Wait is there going to be general seating, but without seats? (Floor) |
Ray D O'Gaga 25.07.2005 20:07 |
With my flight, accomodations, ticket, and various travel expenses, I'll be paying over $1000 to see "Queen Without Freddie" in October. In for a penny, in for a pound. |
Sharon G. 25.07.2005 20:35 |
I would pay 200 a ticket to see Queen with Freddie. With PR , nope. |
Atomic Dog 25.07.2005 21:32 |
What a bunch of complainers!!!!!!! My wife and I paid $450.00 per ticket to see them in Birmingham and Cardiff, plus air, hotel, etc.. from LOS ANGELES. How much do you spend on Big Mac's and Beer??????? Step up to the plate and enjoy your life. Remember, It is better to burn out, then to fade away! Ps My wife stormed the stage to get a piece eof Paul Rogers |
PieterMC 25.07.2005 21:34 |
I am very happy for you that you had the money to do that :-) |

All I Hear Is Radio Gaga wrote: Wait is there going to be general seating, but without seats? (Floor)It will be all assigned seating at the Hollywood Bowl. There is no General Admission there, even the pool circle in front has seats, though people usually move up against the stage when the show starts. But the Pool Circle is very small. |

Atomic Dog wrote: Step up to the plate and enjoy your life. That's how I'm looking at it. Once in a lifetime is ... well, once in a lifetime. I was 9 the last time Queen in any permutation played in the US, so a grand seems like a fair price to make an (almost) lifetime dream come true. So I'm gonna pony up the dough. |

Ray D'O and All I Hear . . . ou two gotta be related. Both taking the "half full" approach to these gigs. Ray: Aruba should be a kick. Are you going to the Frampton gig on Friday night? Atomic Dog: I was sitting in a London pub near the Imperial War Museum two weeks ago and over the stereo speakers came . . . yes, Atomic Dog. I laughed out loud when I hear it. I love the mix of music one hears over there. Seeing your post just now reminded me of that. |
Ray D O'Gaga 26.07.2005 09:44 |
I probably won't be going to the Frampton gig. The Mrs. and I are going to try and get some rest and do a little sightseeing on Friday, since we'll both essentially be getting off from work Thursday night, driving a good bit to the airport and then getting in line for our 6:20 a.m. or something-like-that flight out to the island. So basically we'll be getting no sleep Thursday night, and are planning to take things pretty easy on Friday so we'll be all geared up for Saturday night. |

It's not Queen fault. They don't do prices, but i think it's about time for fans to say something to Brian or Queen productions. This is not a good way to promote themeselves in America!! The main reason for them to have 30.000 people at the Portugal gig, instead of 40.000 was ticket prices!! Of course, they don't point a gun to your head and force you to buy the tickets but i think it's time for fans to show them (Queen) that we totally disaprove the promoters pricetickets. I´m assuming that Queen aren't the most expensive band for a promoter to take, otherwise... One thing i know: If they try to tour America with this prices it's gonna flop big time. I don't get it, don't this guys have a marketing departement, becuse they know they're no that big in America but they are behaving like they own the fucking charts. I'm really disapointed with music industry, and i'm disapointed with Queen, because they don't do nothing to change that. They could have deals with promoters not allowing them to raise prices at a certain level. How much do Queen cost to promoters? anyone knows? In an interview to a Portuguese journal, the reporter asked Brian if it was true that Queen were receiving 100.000.000 dollars for the european tour. He said no, not that much and I´m no doing it for the money. I don't pay much atention to money because i've got it!! I think it's about time to say something to this guys, because the fans that made them what they are today are been kept away for their concerts because they can't afford the prices. Take care |

I concur also ... Tickets for the Paris gig were e88, about $100 at the time. I stood 5-8 feet from the stage. I don't want to pay 100$ to need binoculars. Now, I know that Le Zenith is smaller venue, but the point is that Queen has not been able to keep as tight a hold on America as they have on the European countries, and I think it's folly to assume that they will sell out the HB at those outrageous prices. I mean, sure, Bono has kissed America's ass enough to sell at that price, but Queen is just not up there, and especially sans Freddie. It's also upsetting to me that I really want to get the best tickets as possible that I can afford, and take some friends, but I can't afford them for this concert. Especially with ticketmaster price charges, I would be spending more to go to a concert 15 minutes from where I live than it cost me to fly from Los Angeles to Paris. And that's just not right. Another reason why lowering the prices would be a very, very good idea, is that if they actually made the concert affordable, then people who aren't quite fans might be persuaded to go and become fans. |
Lisser 26.07.2005 11:15 |
Ouch. I'll pay it if I have to but I won't be happy about it. |
queenfan7474 26.07.2005 12:08 |
You can say all you want that the prices aren't Queen's fault but they are.The band is the one asking for the guarantee to be a certain price, and this is what the promoter has to charge to make money. There's no way that they should charge more than Aerosmith or Tom Petty or Metallica, bands that sell out here on a regular basis. |

Why do some people whine about prices when they have no intention of attending either concert? I simply see it this way: those who travel, and shell out $200 for a gig, will simply spend one less night at a hotel. Oh, and they'll gladly spend the $200 for a chance to see the boys again, rather than zero bucks whilst twiddling their thumbs at home. joe+III |
NOTWMEDDLE 26.07.2005 15:14 |
If Pink Floyd did a reunion tour with Roger Waters, they would fight to keep ticket prices low. Roger Waters and Rick Wright are against anyone paying over $100 a ticket. If PF toured, they would probably give the concert gross to charity as they don't need money as Pink Floyd's albums still sell in LARGE NUMBERS yearly! In 1994, Pink Floyd had the lowest ticket prices of the three BIG classic rock bands that toured that year at between $35 to $70. The Eagles and The Rolling Stones charged over $100 a pop. Also, PF fared well on the album charts as well as their Division Bell album killed the competition until Tim McGraw kicked them off. The Rolling Stones' Voodoo Lounge hit #2 but couldn't topple Sir Elton's soundtrack to The Lion King. The Eagles' Hell Freezes Over didn't come out until the US leg finished and that sold HUGE and hit #1. |
